The rain here. Up to about 500mm+ in last 5 days and no end in sight.

You can stop now.

Well anything sounds like a lot if you measure it in millimeters.

Guys, I just threw my banana peel in the sink and almost put my plate in the trash.

Is this what getting old feels like?

Depends. How stoned, drunk, and/or hopped up on red bull are you?

Awwww ... :(

686mm over last 6 days. Yeesh. And possibly another week of this to go. Apparently it's the most ever recorded in a short time in this area. Lots of nervous people watching the dam levels (191%, yep you read that correctly) and the river levels. I went for a drive this evening and watched the water blasting over the pedestrian bridge that is normally quite a few metres above the average level. We are in a pretty safe area that hasn't had problems historically, but I keep wondering "there's always a first time".

Considering I went through this in December 2010 - January 2011 I'm beginning to think I may be cursed. Or if I lied when I was 17 or something.

Spent most of the day at work enacting emergency plans. Horribly micromanaged emergency plans. :)

Today I spent 30 minutes wrapping a keyboard at the front desk in tinfoil because IT can't fix what ever issue our scanner has. It's works surprisingly well.

Also now the Illuminati can't see what we type.

My solution was ruined an hour later.

Instead I laminated ten sheets of tin foil and created a mat to put under the keyboard.

I am a wizard.

I heard the tin foil industry was crowded out by a shadowy cabal of aluminum industry leaders.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Still raining. Was called into work yesterday, going back today. Hoping the worst is over, although we have a few more days predicted the weather bureau says it should be slowing. Fingers crossed.

3rd biggest political party in my country, Wanting to take ownership of all land in my country, remove residential payment, promising to find employment for 9 million people, asking people to have more kids (more voters, dont worry about feeding them), wanting to lower the voting age to 16 (because more votes for them), promosing to force bussinesses to only buy 50% of anything from black women, can only sta in bussiness if 60% of waht they sell is made is locally. Its scary to see someone promise Venezuela and get votes

It's still raining. The local council opened the dam sluice gates just now to mitigate further rain and I'm in an area which may be affected, although I'm outside the outer predicted area. It's going to be close either way.

More heavy rain predicted for the next 2 days before hopefully tailing off. We've never had anything like this before, it's a true monsoonal downpour. My sympathies with those who put up with it yearly.

That bloody monsoon trough just sits there right over the top of us. It's inexhaustible! Just fuck off already!

EDIT: nervous night ahead, and even getting through this doesn't mean we can relax.

:)
