Whats making you happy right now

I’ve just had an Aha! moment. Since I’ve been back in Texas I’ve been struggling with how to meet new friends other than at a bar. I don’t play sports sports or attend church like most people suggest. It hit me today after being pissed off at the shooting yesterday that I should start looking at political activism. First, I realized that bitching about problems without doing anything is pointless. Peaceful protest shoes government officials how many of us care about certain causes. Second, I should meet some likeminded people. It’s worth a try I think! Has anyone else done this? If so, how did you find a group or cause to join? I don’t intend to stick myself out there on social media mind you. I can’t really afford to with my job.

You can look at groups that release letters or commentary on events or appear in news coverage. This would probably need a second social media account (Fbook, Instagram) to see and interact with many of them. After you connect with them, you can say that your preference is to not be in the social media posts because of a job situation.
Alternatively, looking at campaigns by people in local politics or state wide politics (who do they meet with or brag about getting endorsements from) can hopscotch you to the better groups.
My advice is to start slow, rather than jump in on every task. Sometime advocate groups are good, sometimes they're full of people who are not good at dealing with other people. This means going slow and not being too open is ideal for figuring out who to engage with, who to disengage from, and how to integrate this into your life healthily.

I'm low key excited about a lady I'm seeing. A lot fits between us two. She's wonderful.
The one that may not fit is a future thing - I don't know if she's up for trying for another bio child. It's a discussion to have sometime in the next month.
We saw the Taylor Swift movie - it's worth watching, even if it is functionally 3 hours long. I think a couple of minor editing things are in between it and being one of the top 3 concert movies I've ever seen (Stop Making Sense and Sign O the Times being my favorites) and it ends up on the top 10 list instead.

Good thought. I’ve found a Dallas liberal ladies lunch to check out, and think I’m going to start my focus on LGBTQ rights for now. That sounds like a good start!

Wife is definitely getting back to her pre incident self. Has had a few unsuccessful interview, but instead of letting herself get knocked down, she tells me 'oh I've got like four more coming up'.
Resilient, this one.

I had an unexpected email from the University of Huddersfield last night. I'd completely forgotten I'd signed up for the wait list for their "evening with" event with Patrick Stewart (tickets went within minutes).

I have been seeing a terrific woman for a couple months now. She's thoughtful, funny, empathetic, a great kisser, and communicative. I'm pretty happy with how things have proceeded so far.
There's quite a few overlaps in our lives and it's notable how we didn't meet until recently - sort of a "we might have been in the same building or room several times over the last 7-8 years" thing.

That's great man. I wish you all the happiness after having been through a lot of struggle in recent years in that arena.

I installed a new showe head. I bought it a few months after moving into my apartment and then never got around to installing it for about a year or longer.
It has better pressure, several modes (most I think will be useless but some were very nice) and it’s detachable and can be held in the hand as well. Just took my first shower with it. Such a simple thing but I think future showers will be just a little bit nicer.
I often think it’s little things like this that add up to the most

Roofer came by yesterday and sorted gutter. Hopefully the issue with that wall is done now; he said it looked like an outflow was blocked up when I spoke to him.

Great news about the job! I hope it's positive for her
Your friends are bang on - he comes across as a really lovely man. His age is showing a bit now (understandably!) in that he loses his thread and had to be reminded/prompted a little as to what he was talking about, but he's very funny and remains a great storyteller.

He's Jean Luc Picard, and Professor Xavier, and Mel Gibson once bit his nose off. I would watch this man floss.

Not sure what it is, but you may want to reduce the image dimensions and censor your ID card.

Got a 4th round Job interview with HR on Friday. So far its been HR, Head of US sales, VP of global sales and now its back to HR a different HR manager. All told from round 1 to 4 will be in a 2 week span. Its a major company with good brand recognition. I think they are motivated to move quickly and hire and I believe the plan is to onboard a few new hires relatively quickly.
Still it seems to quick for an offer, I would have expected a panel interview or having to a brief presentation but I assume we will be discussing salary expectations and similar which strikes me as being a very good sign. I already had do to a very basic psychometric and logic test online.
It seems like an odd move but a welcome one
