We've picked up New Amsterdam.

Not usually a fan of hospiatal dramas, but circa 50% into season 1 and loving it so far

The wife watched this recently. Really good for the first few seasons, then it kinda falls apart.

noted, I'd say we're in for the duration of the 5 seasons available on disney anyway, wife loves it and I'm enjoying, but Will review after season 2/3

So how's ST academy. I am too scared to watch it yet.

(it irritates me paying for Paramount+ on top of Amazon Prime, which is how we have to do it in the UK)

Same here. It bothers me a lot...not quite enough to go back to sailing the high seas, but close.

Okay I watched. I still hate what Star Trek has become because of Discovery, Star Trek was the bright shining future utopia we should all hope for. ST Discovery and Academy (because of a child temper tantrum of all things) is now a dystopian future with scant resources fighting for survival. Yet this is juxtaposed against technology indistinguishable from magic where food appears from thin air, matter can be programmed and built on a whim and ships are part matter and part energy. I like the science magic, I hate the dystopian background. If you want to make your own show please just do that. At least Klingons are back as they should be.

The show is a little too much teen angst and hormones (Horny), a Half-Klingon, half-jem-hadar female is I think lore breaking for two reasons (Its hundreds of years int he future so yes they can hand waive it but why?). The Doctor is always a pleasure (Voyagers best character, but he seems to have regressed character wise). Its not star trek unless we have a non human character trying to understand what it means to be human (not the doctor).

Currently I have a little more free time than usual and Ill keep watching but its 50:50

Did no one else watch Hedge Knight ep 1? I thought it was a solid opening and at one point I had to pause it for probably 2 minutes as I couldn’t stop laughing. Curious how that part hits others.

Also idk if anyone has mentioned this but if your a SG-1 and spin offs fan I have good news…we will get further adventures set in the same “universe” with another series that is not a reboot. So I very much hope that we some closer/expansion on Atlantis and Universe in the continuation of the franchise. Only down side for me personally is it’s going to be on Prime so boo.

I'm not settling on any new stuff at the moment. I finished Slow Horses s5 in like 2 sittings and it was incredible. Other then that (and of course Bosch) nothing is sticking. I tried For All Mankind and while I can appreciate it's a very well written and crafted show it's just not quite what I want to watch (and there's about 50 episodes!)

I might give Mythic Quest another go, or check out a couple of the other Apple shows that people have recommended (Trying, Lessons in Chemistry, Bad Sisters, Palm Royale...)

Or perhaps give up on Apple TV and continue watching Bosch! Though I only have Apple TV while the half price subscription lasts which is until the spring sometime.
