If there is a better episode than the Will Whedon one I just stumbled across on E4, I need to see it.

That is one of the better ones, but it keeps a quality similar throughout the three series'. :p

@ MEZLA

Haven't seen an episode of the BIG BANG THEORY yet, but the pedantic bear in me has to ask, do you mean JOSS WHEDON, or WIL WHEATON, since both are sufficiently nerdy cult figures to be referenced in such a show.

May have to get it out form the library.

She's referring to Wil Wheaton, that smug bastard...

Definitely Will Wheaton. Though I'm sure they will get Joss Whedon on there soon, he's like the king of geek atm. They have already had Summer Glau. Incidentally my favourite episode. :p

WTF??? This is so left field it could be pure genius. Or the diametric opposite.

I also had to check the date on this one.

Seth Green on board for 'irreverent, playful' new Stars Wars instalment

* By Luke Funk of MyFoxNY

Seth Green, creator of Robot Chicken will be involved with the project.

THE next incarnation of the famed Star Wars franchise will be an animated sitcom.

MyFOXny.com reported Lucasfilm has announced that Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich are going to be involved in the new project, along with Daily Show writer Brendan Hay.

The company says the series will look at the saga's characters with a "playful and irreverent tone".

"The Star Wars universe is so dense and rich; it's crazy to think that there aren't normal, mundane everyday problems in a world so well-defined," Green said.

"And it's even crazier to think of what those problems might be, since it's all set in a galaxy far, far away.

"What do these characters do when they're not overthrowing empires?"

The developers hope that the series will appeal to all ages, but there will be some adult humour buried under the surface.

Initial posts by Star Wars fans on the official site were generally positive about the idea. but not everyone was convinced.

A user with the handle EpcotGreg posted: "What a nightmare. Star Wars is now literally just a joke. Which is kind of accurate, sadly."

That is either going to be pure genius or it will go the way of the Christmas special of Star Wars things better left in the closet. I see no middle ground.

It's a 30min TV special that was made just after the original STAR WARS was released. Summarily, the gang are on Chewie's home planet on Christmas and when Santa drops down the Wookie equivalent of a chimney, Han shoots him (first). Luke feels a great disturbance in the Force and Obi Wan's ghost shows up and explains that Han has ruined Christmas unless they can finish Santa's delivery. They transfer Santa's sleigh onto the Millenium Falcon, R2 hooks the reindeer up to the hyperdrive and off they go while Leia tells the Christmas Story and blames Han for ruining it. It's actually the first appearance of 'kid' versions of various races that appeared in the cantina scene. At one point over Coruscant Darth Vader and some tie fighters pursue them but Wedge and a squad of X-Wings provide cover and Vader actually calls off his tie fighter squadron because 'The Force is with them at this time of year'. Then they all head back to the Alliance base in time for dinner and midnight mass, which is notable for C3P0 providing simultaneous translation of 'Silent Night' into wookiease. There's all this romantic tension between Leia and Luke (this being pre Empire) which is sort of icky.
