SB, you're about the coolest guy ever. Archer is so damn awesome.

Started watching Archer, liking it a lot. "You had an erection about the thought of me dead??" "Well it was only a semi..."

'Oh ok, then I guess just pout.' Haha, classic. Can't wait for the second season.

Found a 10 Things I Hate About You TV show. I gave it ago because, well, I loved the movie and Larry Miller reprises his role, and I was pleasantly surprised. The actress who plays Kat is actually pretty funny, although I was annoyed they changed Mandela's character from a Shakespeare geek to an obese goth vandal. :Urb:

Watched the first episode of Justified last night on Five USA (10 o'clock, it clashes with the new series of Sons of Anarchy on Bravo so the digi recorder helps. Thursdays are once again Masan's TV night !) It stars Jimminee Elephant as a brooding US Marshall, who is a bit fast on the draw and gets sent back to his home town in Kentucky to deal with the neo nazi/ racist/ militia/ religious nutters who are blowing up churches that sell weed !

It was fun and had a modern day "western" feel to it. Elephant was suitably badass as the sheriff who has come to clean up the town, only it's not cattle rustlers he's gotta deal with but Jew hating banjo twangers who love Hitler and Jesus. I will watch more of this as there is potential for much mayhem and droll "Clintesque" one liners.

Quick question for our American chums who may have seen this, artistic license aside, is this a relatively accurate portrayal of small town Southern 'Amerricuh, or is it as I hope, massively stereotypical ?
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

Are there fuck ignorant(er) nazis who quote the bible for justification between mason jars of moonshine? Yeah, same as fucking everywhere (well, the moonshine and mason jars are probably a wholly american white trashism). Do they go around blowing up churches, robbing banks and pointing unloaded shotguns at federal agents when they're not out killing gators? no, not usually.

The show kinda jumped the shark after the first episode though, imo. Shane + Bullock = win. No Shane, no win.

This Community episode is already epic 5 minutes in.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

This show is awesome! Especially the bits at the end. Just started watching it. And damn, Chevy Chase has gotten old.

Is anybody else watching Idris Elba as "Luther" on BBC 1

This is what I pay my license fee for, excellent television.

'V' is getting better. Every scene last night between Eric and Anna was positively RIFE with subtext. You could practically see the writing staff beating each other over theheads with keyboards as they came up with the next double-entendre. I'd like to see this show make it to a season two. It's got big gaping holes you could fly a mothership through, yet i find myself enjoying it.

Less so is FLASHFORWARD, which is stumbling heavily over its own plot devices.

I finally saw an episode of GLEE... ok, i get why muddle america lurvs this show. Not entirely my cup of tea, but when it's clever, it's VERY clever. Conversely, when it's ham-handed and unsubtle, it's VERY weak. Same for the music numbers, some are great (Jesse's Girl, That Boy is Mine) and some are just bad (the whole finale of U2's One).

Justified is IMO the greatest show on television atm, followed closely by Fringe. If you havent seen this I recommend checking it out. The only issue I have with it, is that you must start from episode one. Starting in the middle you miss alot of info. Thats my opinion - feel free to make it yours.

I caught my first episode of Justified yesterday. It was indeed very good. I'll go back and catch up on the season.

I also caught a few episodes of Modern Family and laughed my ass off. Very, very good writing as well, although more of a sitcom flavor. All of the actors, including the kids, are top-notch.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Nah. I do that sometimes. It all depends on how much time i have to come up with something brilliant.

- Abyss, ...on the other hand, may have been replaced by a defective clone...

I blame Apt...you....one and the same?

~Bent, only does this to make Abyss feel less elitist, even tho he can use his super-mod-admin powers to make me acknowledge his actual eliteiousity.

If you like a WWII piece set in the Pacific arena, then I highly suggest "The Pacific" on HBO. With Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg as producers. I think it's the same group from Band of Brothers.

Just watched through all of Community this weekend. I don't think I've laughed so hard in ages. Particularly the Modern Warfare episode...that's up there with The IT Crowd's Work Outing and Arrested Development's Pier Pressure in my list of favourite episodes of comedy series ever.0

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Watching Modern Family at the moment. I love this show - it and Community have to be the best American comedy shows since Arrested Development and The Office, easily.
