not an indication of my viewing habits, but just a tenuous link, finally finished watching season 2 of californication and that show just hit it out of the park. if you havent watched this show, start its very good. Gotta get season 3 down now and i think the fourth is running currently!

I saw Season 1 and loved it ... up until the last 5-10 minutes. Please tell me they didn't continue with the schmaltz into season 2?

Seven minutes.

It this show all of seven minutes to make me change the channel.

In the realm of action drama tv this was a new record, and i actually watched several entire eps of the BIONIC WOMAN remake.

- Abyss, ...doesn't want to talk about it.

But the actual execution is so bad. It had a shot to be decent, but blew it. Poorly written, poorly cast, poorly done. My buddy insisted on watching the whole thing because he's been looking forward to this show since he saw a preview at ComiCon. Even he agrees it's bad.

The original concept has the HT replacing people in order to protect them and suss out the assassin. It's a neat concept provided the targets are a) always men and b ) at least marginally talented actors. You can see why this went nowhere.

This version goes with more or less The Bodyguard, only no one makes the sex with Kevin Costner and we're all happy about that but even so... weak. just weak.

- Abyss, gives it four eps.

I have Human Target on my PVR. Should I just delete it and save myself the time from watching it?

I suspect the first ten min or so will convince you one way or the other.

- Abyss, took 7.

I started watching The Sopranos for the first time recently (someone lent me the whole box set).

Oh. My. Fucking. GOD.

What an immense series, I cannot describe the sheer epic quality of this programme. Best thing I've seen in absolutely donkeys years.

I also have the entire box set and you are in for a treat TT. Along with The Wire, The Sopranos is probably some of the best TV ever made.

I randomly pick out favourite episodes to watch from time to time and the writing, acting and humour never ceases to amaze. Have you watched "Pine Barrens" yet ? ( It's the one where Christopher and Paulie Walnuts get lost in the woods in winter) There is a scene where they are in a car trying to get warm that always has me in stitches.

So many brilliant moments, you lucky first time viewer/ bastard ! :p
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

I still have never seen an entire episode of The Sopranos. I refuse to watch it edited, never had HBO. Now that I have netflix maybe I'll get on it.

Do yourselves a favor:

If it's a series on HBO, give the first few episodes a chance. 50/50 you will love it.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Ahh but I'm closer to masans saddle. Twenty minutes and I'm there! :p

OK, people I have a confession to make. Glee. I freaking love it. It's very funny and well written. And I know the concept is essentially High School Musical, which I hate, but this is so much better. You may now start ripping into me!

At least you admit it. Millions of people watch the show and deny any knowledge of it.

GLEE is one of those shows like NCIS that succeeds beyond anyone's wildest expectations despite a lame concept, unknown cast, little hype and a bad timeslot. No one admits to watching these, yet they win in ratings week after week.

I tried a couple of eps of GLEE and it didn't grab me. But then, i don't watch tv for musical entertainment unless it involves Lady Gaga bathing in Kermit the Frog's steaming entrails while lipsynching 'Poker Face'.

While we're making shameful confessions, I am enjoying CHOPPED beyond all reason or logic. I'm a fan of good food and watching talented or not so talented chefs scramble to whip up gourmet dishes with insanely random ingredients in 30min just fascinates me, despite the lack of kicky/stabby, 'splosions or anything resembling a Cylon or evil conspiracy.

- Abyss, ...suspects Ted may be a cylon and the Dharma Initiative is setting the ingredient list...

Well I was a drama student, and I guess I picked up a love of musical theatre from there, which has somehow transferred across to this silly TV show. ;)
