The Hulk movie from a few years ago was AWFUL.

That is one of my favourite movies ;)

The actors did a great job (which is not so common in superhero movies), the special effects were spectacular, and the editing (how the screen changes from one scene to the next, probably the wrong word, but I don't know the right word) was very original and well done. And the story was based on a comic, so you can't really expect gold. The director focused more on a few themes instead, and made it a bit deeper than Spiderman, which is not a crime (on the contrary I say). Most of today's movies are too mainstream. Hulk was not. My only gripe with it was that it dragged on a bit towards the end.

---------------------

Southland Tales was disappointing. Nothing close to the standards of Donnie Darko. It had some cool stuff (the snipers, which account for less than 2 minutes of the whole movie), but the whole story was just too unrealistic. And the CGI was hideous, which along with the bad acting, made for a boring movie experience.
The leader, his audience still,
considered their scholarly will.
He lowered his head
and with anguish he said,
"But how will we teach them to kill?"

I liked the Hulk film. Except for getting overboard and mixing Banners father with Zzzax and the Absorbing Man I thought it was a cool film. I didn't even mind the giant hulk dogs, that was just another cool "Hulk Smash!" scene.

I also liked Eric Bana as Bruce Banner, I'm not happy at all with them using a new guy, even Edward Norton to play Bruce Banner in the new one.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

the new one isnt a sequel as such. It sort fo doesnt acknowledge that the firts one existed.

It has great songs, and a young, semi-naked Susan Sarandon; which makes you wrong. ;)
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I declare 25th hour to be the slowest movie of all time.

Also 'Broken Flowers' starring Bill Murray is 2 hours of my life that would have been better spent knocking nails into my nut-sack.

And of course 'Godzilla' remake from 10 years ago, nothing happened at all, then it turned into a fucking rip off of Jurassic Park.

oh oh oh oh

I retract all my previous movies. Worst movie I have EVAR watched for real

"terms of endearment"

HOly shit. I don't think a movie could go any slower. THe worst part is that just when you think the damn thing is going to end, and it fades to black, and you expect them to roll credits, the screen lights back up with everybody aged 5 more years. More bullshit happens, somebody dies, fade to black. Guess what...no credits again. and again. and again. Seriously about 10 times, then it has a pitifully weak REAL ending and you walk away feeling like the Wraith just sucked 3 hours off your life force.

Ugh even thinking about that movie makes me shudder...

The Rocky Horror Show is waaay more entertaining if you go and see the musical, trust me. Go to an evening performance, and hope you get a particularly raucous crowd. I went and saw it in Aberdeen - a packed theatre of drunken Aberdonians all doing the timewarp is rather impressive, believe me. Plus people were yelling out "Slut!" and "Arsehole!" whenever one of the two main actors came on the stage - the atmosphere was awesome and overall made for an amusing night out.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.
