  1. Board and card games

    10 January 2021 - 07:21 PM

    Hello all.

We played a few rounds of Battleships earlier, nice simple fun.

What other old games are there (2 player) that could be printed off to play?

What about board games that are actually good with two players so many games in the 2-6 player range suffer greatly on 2 player.

We're slowly building up a games collection, but at the minute looking for some good 2 player games, can be as elaborate and slow or quick and easy as you like.

    Suggestions please my friends

I think she has enough work out there to deserve this.

Have started the Pursuit of William Abbey.

About 100 pages in, just met Albert and: (spoilers for Harry August and sudden hope)
  3. Virtual Games Night

    01 November 2020 - 04:48 PM

    So so so

My lady wants to do a games night, like mafia, secret Hitler, hell maybe a murder mystery.

Obviously, given its 2020 and the world is a shit show this can't be a night of drinks and snacks at our house.

We're going to Zoom it in.

Questions, how best to set up such a night? The zoom is fine, but how would a game of mafia run over it? Same goes for Secret Hitler. Could a murder mystery evening be incorporated as an overall theme?

  4. Zoom Quiz time Nerds

    23 July 2020 - 08:41 PM

    Ok Nerds.

We've just executed the most flawless zoom quiz in the history of the world.

so next weekend I think we should run one for you goons.

does Saturday evening (GMT, the real time) suit?
  5. Quick reco request

    15 June 2020 - 06:14 PM

Looking to pick up a book for dad for Father's day.

He likes thrillers, Lee Child, Harlan Coben, Clive Cussler, etc.

Trying to find him a new author or an old author that he won't have come across. Fast paced, page turner's.
He's ok with low fantasy too, doesn't have to be "real world" settings. He does enjoy Abercrombie as a fantasy author and really enjoyed Legend (who wouldn't) but I have all those books on the shelf.

So yeah, an off the beaten track author, in the mold of lee child etc, like he found a book by this guy Nick Pietre or someone in a charity shop, devoured it and then demanded I find the other two books in the series.

    Go nerds go!

Fair enough. I'm glad you didn't unfriend me though! I missed all the little interesting things you were doing in life, but I figured you fell prey to the Facebook algorithms; I didn't realize you'd deleted your account.
