For me, the biggest problem I've had is the drawn out plots...forever...

Xander...you write, right? Well, if you do, you know much of a pain in the ass it can be to tie up inconsistencies... I imagine it's particularly troublesome with thousands of pages of already published text. But he should have had it worked out in advance. It's the same reason I worry about GRRM...he says he lets the characters tell the story.

SE's got a plan and he's sticking to it, I think.

Adding to the above...it's probably why GRRM's taking so long. It's got to be a bitch to keep track of all those characters. No wonder he needed to build an addition...he's got to keep his storyboards somewhere.

I'm betting 'Dance' is of superb quality...just my guess.

Agreed. Could have used about three chapters more of it.

I'd love to see Graendal exposed... she's essentially been making naked royals do acrobatics the past few books... I'd also love to see why that nobleman Ituralde is important enough to get a POV in the prologue of COT... I'd want the #@&^%$# Aes Sedai to get their act together and attack the Black Tower already. Lets have mass pawnage until the number of One Power users are down to manageable numbers like they were until the third book.

Sigh... many more items on the wishlist, and I hope Brian Sanderson is on the same page

Wasn't Rodel Ituralde considered one of the greatest military commanders alive? Haven't read COT, so just a suggestion.

Yes, I believe he is considered one of the best...

The thing is, he and his army are seen basically mucking around Arad Doman being way too smart to figure out what they are up to. It is extremely frustrating to see them go from battle to battle without a clue on how these battles fit in to the big picture

Yes, Rodel is considered one of the "5 Great Captains". He's often underestimated because of his height...which seems to be a little too heavily played upon in the series. We get it RJ! Height matters, sheesh.

The idea is that Ituralde is planning to destroy the Seanchan armies without any channellers on his side to take care of the damane, which is pretty ambitious. He makes a good start in KoD when he has his archers massacre the damane before they can channel, which was unexpectedly ruthless (the sort of thing Rand wouldn't do, for example). I think the idea was to enrage the Seanchan into hurtling northwards into a trap. I guess this will form a vital part of the start of Book 12.
