I particularly like this theory. If Teblor girls are considered women when their experience their first bleed (has real-life support), then there may not be any time paradox to worry about.

It would be hard to imagine them reaching womanhood before 10, but 12-13 is not too unreasonable and could be explained... maybe.

Maybe though Kruppes dance we will be told the story of TTH :p

Karsa has not been away from the Teblor plateu for as long as 12 years, I believe we can be fairly certain of this.

Possibly, some external force has spurred their growth? Perhaps I just am mixing up dates, of perhaps this is another little timeline problem.

The timeline is not important *swings pendant*

Perhaps. We have seen several such cases already: Silverfox, Rud Elalle (Udinaas' son). The Seven Teblor gods might have had something to do with it.

Interesting point - both Silverfox and Rud were soletaken and grew faster as a result.

No reason to assume the girls are soletaken, but anything's possible.

That said, obviously magic can affect growth rates and there is a lot of magic operating behind the scenes around Karsa and those in his path (CG, Teblor/Tarthenal, 7 Rockheads, arious spirits of dead people...).

Alternate theory: per HoC, the 7 Rockheads were manipulating Bairoth's daughter who was unborn when Karsa/Bairoth/Delum headed out. Maybe a whole other power has invested Karsa's daughters (who would be only slightly younger than Bairoth's) as a counter-measure.

- Abyss, also notes the deformed army - anyone's guess whose side they're on...

Cross posting a bit...

Found this quote in HOC which I thought would be an interesting add to this thread:

HOC, on Ch 1, said:

The twenty-three Found who stood witness to the beginning of the warriors’ journey, hidden among the trees of the valley side, were by blood the brothers and sisters of Karsa, Bairoth and Delum, yet they were strangers as well, though at that moment that detail seemed to matter little.

"One shall make it." This from Bairoth’s eldest brother.

Delum’s twin sister shrugged in reply and said, "We shall be here, then, upon that one’s return."

"So we shall."

Yes, but as Karsa kindly turned Siballe into pond scum, waiting to do what is anyone's guess. 'follow Karsa into glorious war and kill lots' would seem to be the logical outcome, but Siballe was the CG's creature at that time.

Really? I always thought Silverfox grew more quickly because she was drawing on the power of the Mhybe. Hm. Well, I was going to suggest that the girls could have pulled the same trick on their parents, but nvm...

I think we're all assuming that the maturation of Teblor is roughly equivilent to humans. Even among humanity, it's possible for females to reach puberty before 10. And the prologue says it could be more than 2 years before they even get to "womanhood"... so 8 years is not unreasonable.

I guess SE cleared the matter up. Check out the Message from Steve thread:

Myeaah... The Daughters are still going to be pretty young, but I just guess that Teblor mature quickly compared to their lifespan.

Maybe it's one of the effects of their blood-oil (Otataral)?

How does that make sense? What would bloodoil had done to the daughters?

Well, we already know ottataral has strange effects on people exposed to it so it might have some effect on the daughters.

Why would it affect them differently than the entire rest of the TTT race?

Maybe something to do with Karsa's Toblakai warren? It's mentioned in tBH that the Toblaki warren depends upon blood purity, so it stand to reason his daughters would have at least some, so maybe they were affected differently by otataral? I dont think this btw, just suggesting reasons.

The glottal stop makes it sound like "Isabelle." "My name is [throat constriction]-Siballe." It's like a stress on a syllable that isn't there.
