I'm hoping Toll The Hounds illuminates us on the overall progress of ST and Cotillion's plans...it seems to me that something big is going to have to happen in that plot line...we are so deep into the story now..nearing the end....

Well the Malazan Empire is on its last legs...or so i think...i mean 50 years tops....that would give Grub time to grow up, become first sword, redeem the empire...and then die as it was completely destroyed by some new threat/race/cataclysmic event...as Mael tells Tehol...humans are not the last try ....

No.....it will be the way of Empires...civil infighting....outer attacks by a force....and then something completely Malaz....like the arrival of some new species/race that overcomes humans

Exactly. ST vs. AR in a cage match is like "Enterprise vs. Galactica". Simply doesn't make sense except as nerdy fanboi argument, and has nothing to do with the story.

Touche Mataglap! I'd just like to say this whole forum is by design, a place for fanboi arguments :p It is a fanboi forum after al...

Tried to rep ya, but seems I got to spread some around first

i know that this is going back a little but we know for a fact that Osserc is a tiste liosen or atleast a tiste cause his son is one
but i agree that if trull had more time he would have become really powerful
maybe good enough to challenge Ruin or Rake and be equal to them ...............
if he had another 100 or so years to live

Nonsense on both account. We're not certain of anything.

Osserc looks like a Liosan, but this doesn't mean he is a Liosan, neither does him having a (half?)Liosan son. We know for a fact that Elder Gods can have different looks and shapes. His mother could also be Liosan all though I think the theory is that it's the queen of dreams.

of course if he isn't a real elder god and just a champion of light he MIGHT be Liosan.

Trull would never had been equal to Ruin or Rake. They are born ascendants as powerfull as (or damn close to) Elder Gods. Even if Trull was a better fighter than the two all they needed was putting magical force into a swing and Trull and the spear go into a million pieces.

It's funny Ruin didn't just do this in the cave, huh?

i m sorry a missed a zero
i meant 1000 years or so also maybe he would develope magical posers its in his blood, his mom and his brother had it, not that he has to have it
ok maybe not equal to them but he d give them a really good fight i mean REALLY good

We don't know for sure what Osseric is....someone said that Osseric...like Rake...was more dragon than anything right?

And Rake and Osseric are Elder Gods/Ascendants with MILLENIA of experience...so the odds are against Trull....

Where do you get that Queen of Dreams was Osserc's mother? I think that it mentioned in MoI that Caladan Brood, Anomander Rake and "the sorceress who would later become the queen of dreams" (rough quote) were companions. By extension, because Anomander Rake and Osserc are contemporaries, it seems unlikely that Queen of Dreams is Osserc's mother.

Well I think somewhere it is inferred that Osseric and the QoD were involved at some time...i think....but the QoD never gives off the impression that she is L'oric's mother during their conversation....his mother could be some as far as yet unknown ascendant or Liosan

I suspect she was a Liosan. If Osric really is an Elder God, then I think Loric's Liosanness might be coming from his mother.

Whether or not Osric is genetically Liosan, he Liosan in appearance, as we know from meeting him. I suspect that he is like Anomander Rake, first of his people, not mortal and pure blood in the same sense as the rest of them, but rather immortal and superior.
