This is code, right? Like, Kosovo means Darujhistan, and NATO is the 14th with allies Perish and WhiteFaces, and by 'russian troops' you mean K'Chain.... and Gore... Gore is obviously Baruk, or possible Kruppe...

If we are all wiped out in a thermo nuclear armageddon before I get to read TtH I'm going to be quite upset.

I can see it now:
(TtH p.722)
Kruppe dry washed his hands nervously as Rake paced the tent. Long seconds elapsed as they contemplated the terrible truth, at long last Anomander Rake broke the dreadful silence: "Little man if what you are saying is correct then that means that the unbelievable truth is the Donkeys are ....[Cougar starts to turn page and at that moment is vaporised in the incandecent brilliance of a 20 megaton ICBM "Fu...."]

Meh.. (to derail this further)
If Kosovo goes independent, Russia wil simply demand same for Transnistria, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia.. possibly for Nagorno-karabakh as well..
Basically, it'll set up a precedent for them to use

And while everyone rejoices that Hugo Chavez got defeated in that referendum, Bolivia and Venezuela are going to have very similar votes soon

What really annoys me is that you go out and buy a perfectly good map...and a year or two later it is geographically incorrect. Doubleyou tee eff mate!

We can dream. We can only dream.

I'm wondering who "dubya" is then? My leader...my president...the guy who is always winking and shooting the gun in pictures. God...how much longer until the U.S. gets somebody else in there?? I can't take it anymore

I doubt somebody new in there will change the US foreign policy or Enviromental policy very much in the near future.

It's not helping that we have a damn conservative in government up here either.Just look at how Canada helped the US make sure basicly nothing happened in Bali.

We need a bit of Opons luck i think.

I would totally vote for Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart...i'm serious.

Anyway....so...the prologue.

Let's play a new game.

What will we see in the prologue?

my guesses

1. A scene from the Andii's history...possibly with Anomander and Andarist

2. Another Elder God scene from the Chaining time?

3. Kruppe taking a dump

I can see the scene now:

'the small round man sat, straining. "aahh, eternally effluent excretia! why dost thou torment mine capacious colon with thy unhealthiest of presences. Why, i Kruppe of Darujhistan know of no fouler outpouring than that which comes from my own evil ends......"
meh. Link was dead :(

I wonder if Silchas will be in this book. I have no clue where he ran off to. I'm beginning to wonder if he sensed at least something of Clip's anger towards Rake. Maybe he'll be a good brother and go help.

I had a thought that he would come to save his brother at the last minute.

I have very little doubt that he won't, does it sound like something SE or Ruin would do? You have too much hope if you think that is the case, I'm not sure how there can be justification for such a soppy happening unless it is not soppy and Ruin is only doing it to use Rake.

I don't know - like Dancer says, I can't see it happening, but at the same time SE might find a way to do it (he has a habit of going against our predictions)...
Somehow, I can't see Clip beating Rake in a straight-up fight, nor can I see him assassinating Rake (I think he wants to talk to Rake first). Unless of course Clip is actually who he says he is?
I wonder if Quick Ben will be in TtH...he has pretty much been in every other book in some way, shape, or form (excluding Midnight Tides). Hell, he even got a mention in DG, although that one was marginal....

I will be very surprised if we don't see Quick Ben in all the remaining books (if he remains alive). I think even SE likes Quick...as a fan of his own work...if that makes any sense :)

Is Clip the new...Fourth son of Mother Dark?

maybe he thinks he is going to take Rake's place
