Penn VS Sanchez -- this could really be the hardest (lightweight) fight Penn has ever had
I agree about this being the stiffest test for Penn at lightweight thus far. However, the only areas Diego's demonstrably superior in are cardio and possibly in the clinch. I have a feeling BJ is going to box him into oblivion and chill out in the clinch. His takedown defense is too good for Diego.

Mir VS Kongo --- Im a huge Mir fan, so im hoping to see a bad ass submission... im worried for him though, Kongo has had a few flops lately but is still a damn beast
Kongo will knock out Mir. His ground and pound's good enough to avoid getting subbed after his strikes put Mir on his back.

Kenny Florian VS Clay Guida --- this is a great match up and should be a damn bad ass fight, im interested to see how Ken Flo looks after his loss to Penn a few months ago.
Co-sign. Florian broke ties with his longtime Muay Thai coach and bounces up to Canada to train with GSP and Firas every so often. He says it's worked out well, but we'll see. If he's not strong enough to win the scrambles or keep the distance, Guida will lay on him.

other match ups should be interesting Paul Buentello vs. Stefan Struve
I've been burned betting against Struve the last couple times out. Judging by that pattern (and the development of his skills), he'll win this one in some ridiculous manner.

Oh and I went and watched some local ammy fights this past Sunday... It was alot better then i thought... some damn good fights, i had 2 friends fighting, the one from my gym lost a decision (man he was busted up, but he showed heart and put on a damn good show, needs to really ask himself if he wants to be a fighter... also needs more cardio)
My other friend won his fight, got the guy in a triangle then rolled on top of him and started striking, the ref had to call the fight cuz the guy couldnt defend himself.
Like the Maia-Herman triangle? Where Demain choked out Herman from the top while punching him in the face the entire time? That's my favorite sub of all time.

Mir should take it easily if he's smart and takes COngodown. He's so mpressed with his own striking though, he just might try to stand with him, and that could go badly for Mir. I hope BJ destroys Sanchez. That guy has always bugged me.
Mir's takedowns are terrible. I don't think he's mobile enough to keep shooting as he would have to in order to bring down Kongo.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.
