Well...I have no actual reason, but I feel as though Assail is much too big. I got the impression it was an isolated place y'know. That seems like people would be bumping itno it all the time.

I have not read any of Ian's goods yet, or any of Steve's novellas. So I'm not sure if they had any thing in them reffering to Assail.

But awesome job!! I look at this map all the time while reading and re-reading but I've never posted anything about. So I guess I'll just finish with a thank you. :(

I love all the effort going into producing an accurate map, and after reading the enter thread and doing some thinking, I only have one criticism of the current one:

SE specified this: Genabackis needs to be angled slightly further south and up a notch or two in overall size.

Now, I know Wert has increased Genabackis' size, but I think the idea of angling the continent was missed. If Genabackis was angled south(as in, rotating it counter-clockwise, so it sort-of resembled a 'U'), wouldn't that ease the minds of those people who wonder why the Malazans landed on northern Genabackis instead of southern? If the whole continent was rotated so it resemlbed less of a boot and more of a 'U', what is now the northern tip would be closer to SC, QT, etc.

Just my two cents. I know I'm new here, but it's just something I noticed.

I did consider this but the direction-arrow on the Genabackis maps precludes it. The 'top' of Genabackis is aimed due north, not north-west. Now I haven't taken into account the curvature of the globe, which would change the orientation of the landmasses somewhat in relation to one another, but I'm not a geographer and I know diddly squat about projections, so I'm not messing with that just now.

So after some time I've finished off a bit more of a current map.
Using both the Reapers Gale and Midnight Tides Maps (kinda) in2 1 composite map. Didn't bother with the 'Tribes of Edur' markings but kept the geography. There didn't seem 2 B any 'wood/forest areas' on the map but if u think I should redo with some included, let me know and where u think they should go. (For all u forest lovers out there, the Seven Cities Map I'm currently doing will have plenty, but Im doing them 3x trees at a time so its taking a while :D).

so....

Not only but also I've done a little version of Wertheads dilligent V.5 of the Wu World Map 4 U all 2 check out:

Both of these maps should print out nicely on2 an A4 sheet if u wanna print 'em. Or u could w8 until Ive done a bulk amount and I'll add a PDF link so u can all print the whole lot any size u like, without losing any quality (as well as zoom in2 particular areas of interest).

As usual any suggestions u have let me know, njoi.

Currently using a mixture of Photoshop 4 some individual parts and effects(water), then mainly using Illustrator 4 the bulk design of the map.

It does take a bit of time but I think I got the template down now, so maybe I'll work a bit quicker from now on. Toughest part is doing the mountains and trees as they R added individually and it takes aaaages. Rivers and streams can B a bit awkward as well.

Trying 2 do the cities, like Capustan, but I might have bitten off more than I can chew with these as they R well fiddly and a right pain to do, so its gonna B a while B4 these R finished, srry.

That is correct, yes. I'm waiting until Dust of Dreams comes out to update the map as that will hopefully feature a map of the Awl'dan and the lands further east.
