Just finished Dead Beat... wow just wow the ending there has just made it my new favourite
Hmmm seems Jim's just made it onto my list of authors who I'll buy in hardback, as soon as they come out no excuses... I'll have to pick up White Night and Proven Guilty when I'm in America, Proven Guilty comes out in paperback in the UK on April the 5th to all who are interested....

I've only just finished Summer Knight (Book 4). This makes me a sad panda.
In the upside, I picked up ex-library copies of Books 3 and 4 for $2 each, which makes up for it.
Loving the series. God damn, but he reminds me of Bruce Willis at the end of "Die Hard" and the end of each book.
Cheers,

Whoa, two weeks, sweet. Didn't know about that.
I'm liking the television show, personally (Found some of the episodes online). Sweet stuff.

@The_Khan
What, are you guys doing a Dresden adaptation too? Or has that been nixed by the TV series?
@Abyzzle my nizzle
What's the word on the street about the rest of the Dresden TV series so far?
Cheers,
La Sombrizzle, hears you spend a lot of time on the streets ...

Finished Proven Guilty.
I think it's really starting to open up the wider plot that's been building for ages, there's a sense that the books will become less standalone now, as the bigger events start to intrude more.

Yeah it does, tho it'll develop quite a bit still. Butcher has said in his forum that "I'm writing 20-ish case books, and a big old three book apocalyptic trilogy to cap it off, and then the story is over."

Oh, White NIght IS out? Shit, going to store tomorrow, after I spend a few hours cleaning out my car (yes. A few hours. My car is a moving biohazard).
And I'd never heard that Butcher said that, Vaiski. Kinda worrisome (TWENTY books?!?!?! For fucks sake, how long is he going to be writing the books, and how can he keep up the quality that long-- although, he's kept it up damned good th us far, so that's a good sign).
Can't help but wonder what the hell's going to be happening by the final trilogy, however :-D

I just want to say damn you all I picked up the first book in this series based on the recommendations of this thread and I loved it and am now going to have to buy the rest of them. It's not like I needed food anyway.

@Valgard - Mwa-ha-haaaa.... Food is over-rated anyways. Great books will sustain you, at least until the hallucinations kick in and you try to eat them...
In other newz, amazon.ca tells me my WHITE NIGHT copy is en route. HO-AHH!
@Sombra - re the TV show.... comes and goes with me. Some eps have been great (the single vampire and werewolf eps), some just (astoundingly bad) disappointing crap (both premieres, the possession ep, the demon ep that was marginally saved by Morgan). On the strength of the fact that imnsho, Buffy, Babylon5 and BSG all had similar starts, i'll stick with it for now.
@Vaiski - makes sense. Would mean he'd be writing the Dresden books for close to two decades, which should be enough for anyone, i would think. Plus, it's money in the bank that lets him mess with other things.
Anyrate, if anyone comments on WN here, remember spoiler warnings pls.
- Abyss, doesn't like to be spoiled except by nurses.

It's good. Good. Good good goodgoodgoodgood. Hundred pages in and yeah, liking, alot.
BUY IT.
Just got it tonight, Borders got it in a few days ago, and am 98 pages into it, and, yeah. Very, very nice. Classic Butcher in good form, damned entertaining, seeing ****** again is damned sweet.
All told: well spent money on a hardcover book, reiterating exactly WHY I buy his Dresden Files (please note: I only bought Furies in hardcover, ain't even bought the rest of the crap in paperback) at the first moment that I see'em.
GOOD. BUY IT. BUY IT NOW. NOW.

Picked Proven Guilty and White Night up whilst I was in America, both typical butcher, kept me smiling as I read, neither were as good as my favourite so far dead beat but still very good. Well worth the cost of buying in hardback.

Yes, White Night was very good there was only one thing I didn't really like in the book but I'll wait a few weeks till others have read it to start talking about it even in spoiler tags.
