Supposedly he was having trouble with the script and it was postponed. I was on his website recently and there was no estimate on its publication.

I don't really mind. Personally I think the last couple of books haven't been quite as good as 4-10 and I'd prefer if he took more time to make the books as good as possible. Perhaps he needs to move away from the one (or two) books a year schedule.

You are crazy.

Changes took everything past the breaking point and Ghost Story gave us the investigative Dresden we didn't know we missed, while making it PROFOUNDLY emotionally affecting.

Butcher right now is untouchable as an author. It remains to be seen if his hot streak continues, but given how well he's done over the last several years, I've got full faith in him.

Shit I agree with that but Ofcourse I read them all back to back so I'm sure that changes things profoundly with having to wait each yr. Ghost Story's ending had me in tears.

Just imagine how untouchable he ll be if all 23( I think Abyss said) are as great as the previous have been.

Apparently the next short story he does is going to take place between Ghost Story and Cold Days, and be from Molly's PoV. Very intriguing!

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Could be interesting. AFTERMATH from Murphy's pov was good in a dresdenverse story sort of way but lacking a bit in terms of really giving Murphy her own voice. To an extent i put this to Butcher's lack of experience in writing female pov , because he did a better job with Marcone in EVEN HAND and Thomas in BACK-UP. So it will be very interesting to see how he does with a thoroughly messed up, powerful, young adult female character.

Do you want them explained for you or will we leave this off until you get around to it?

A pm would be fine so no one else would be spoiled. I don't really plan on reading that one anytime soon. I don't usually like reading backstory in a series.

Your call, but in this case i think that's like saying you won't eat the fries because you're too focused on the steak.

Can I get a baked potato and a Caesar salad instead?
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Actually I think it would be Dresden appropriate to get either:

  • Steak sandwich
  • Pizza
  • Burger King
And eat with a dark microbrew. I don't know if I ever remember Dresden eating a salad or any veggies.... I've always heard that chicken is considered a vegetable in Chicago.

Or if you are underage/getting BK . . . a coke would work. He seems to drink a lot of those.
