I've used an air fryer for chips (fries to the yanks) it nothing else.

Do they crisp stuff up well like a proper deep fat fryer?

Heck yes. My wife wanted appetizers for dinner the other night. We made mozzarella sticks, potstickers, and fries. All awesome.

Last night we made homemade donuts in it. "chefs kiss"
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Just going to jump and shoehorn this in.

Air fryers are game changers. Got one for Christmas and we use it literally every day.

The wife made chicken wings and homemade fries tonight and they wer fanfuckingtastic.

Yeah, air fryers are a solid investment. We got one last year. And it's seeing constant use. Fish, vegetables, roast potatoes, some meats.

Gonna be one of my first purchases when I feel like moving out.

Really selling the air fryer to me.
Just need to get the kitchen finished first.

In other news, first full vacuum of the apartment on Monday, the Miele is fantastic, props to those who name dropped it in the thread.

Lady loves it as well, between the length of the flex and the hose we can do pretty much the whole place bar the entrance lobby and bathroom from one socket in the living area. Plenty of power, easy to empty bin and the hardwood floor broad head is a great thing.

He sent me a voice message in the middle of the night a week or so ago, presumably while drunk, yelling something about Aquavit in that strange and profane Irish dialect of his. So, not entirely there yet I'd say Posted Image

Probably a big part of why he put a ring on it. "You're trapped now! Mwahahahahahahahaha!" ... except in that totally impenetrable accent of his and at 5 times the speed.

She probably doesn't realise that they're engaged. She just tried to nod and smile politely while Mat spewed his gibberish at her.

We adopted a second dog (a 1.5 year old Aussie Cattle dog named Yeti) and buddy sheds like he absolutely must lose all his undercoat by next week.

We have been vacuuming every day in little bits and we're still finding clumps of dog hair everywhere. I'm not giving up on a mostly clean house, but it's harder than it was a month ago.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Next shopping advice.

Printers.

Would want -
cheap (obviously)
Wireless
Decent quality, and ability to print on a medium GSM card
Do combis (scanner/copier/printer) sacrifice quality in the name of functionality of is it just a bigger unit?

Ok, and GO!

The thing about cheap printers is that they tend to break quickly and the companies make $ on ink.

If you're not going to use it much, get a laser printer because those are generally fine to let sit for long times without the cleaning cycles etc.

If you want a combination, https://www.nytimes....in-one-printer/

We've got a combination laser printer - my wife bought a Brother thing long before I came into the picture and it's carried on just fine.

Yeah, like Amphibian says, If you're buying cheap you're basically just paying for the ink cartridge. Which will probably be barely full.

Is this something you actually plan on using regularly? Because otherwise it may be less of a hassle to just use a public library or a print shop.

Every printer I've ever owned seems to have an in-built AI that can detect when you are in a hurry to print something important.

They then makes a lot of noise without actually printing anything; just to make you think it might actually be about to do something, so it's all the more exasperating when they don't.

Most bloody minded appliances ever.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Depends. Are you doing something fancy or just trimming everything down? I usually just buy the cheapest trimmer and replace it every five years or so.
