I find it fidly to change between stances mid battle so I usually just stick with what ever is most usefull. Before it was the wind stance because of all the shield bastards. Now I'm using moon stance a lot because the brutes are more prevalent and also it looks cool.

Have had some great fun with the Shinto shrines where you have to find the way. There is some calamity that is blocking the normal route ascending to the top through the Torii gates. One I came upon had fire destruction blocking the way. Nothing too challenging with these so far (at least the ones I've come upon). But a cool little puzzle a la Tomb Raider that really does a great job of pushing an atmosphere and feeling you are this bad ass samurai.

The gurgling sound of blood when you end a poor fellow with a slash across the throat. .... harrowing.

Ok so now I have bombs, kunai, and some nice tricks to use during combat.
I explored the skills menu, there is so much stuff in there. Didnt realise that playing the flute changes the weather!
Need to find some more crickets now along with everything else. You can sort of set your Travellers clothes to certain objects, bit like the sheika slate.
The sound continues to blow me away.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

You can change what your traveller outfit tracks? How?

I cant remember without looking, but I ended up with a vertical list down the screen on the left, with things like banners, flowers etc to choose from. Mine had been set on banners - I changed it to flowers, and now the controller vibrates whenever I go near any. Might be on the map menu?
It still vibrated when I was close to some records though.
I upgraded my sword blade and bow a couple of levels. Ran out of supplies before I could do the clothes though, which is what I was intending to do first.
Used that 'study boss' thing too. It's actually useful - the one I found was practicing, and ran through all his moves right in front of me.

The game has really done a number on me. Whenever I am in a friendly population area, I find that I have taken to bowing.... a lot. It seems the honorable thing to do, and it usually is returned by some short dialog by the npc which reinforces just how much hardship they are going through after being displaced by the opening events.
Also, do you guys find yourself re-sheathing your katana after fights? I do it pretty regularly. There are a few animations, but the "Kill BIll" one where you flick the blade to rid it of blood is really cool.

I clean my blade after every fight.
One thing I'd like in a sequel would be the ability to trigger a stand off while on horseback. Just charge right at those motherfuckers and chop them down with precision.
I'd also like it if Jin could carry a spear.
Actually I'd just like to be a medieval knight riding down bandits, I guess.

Another tip: I found following the gold birds are good for discovering those hot springs for the healing. Butt cheeks!
Also got a bitchin hat following one of them.

^^ this, totally! I found a sort of refugee hideout, and went round talking to people or just bowing to them. And in a temple or the springs, when people get up just to bow out of respect, I often bow back (although i think samurai bowed to each other as equals while peasants pressed their heads to the floor and didnt require any acknowledgement) it just seems honorable and a natural thing to do. Also Jin is like the peoples hero. I like the dialogue in the camps, I keep stopping to listen.
And yes, i regularly clean my blade. I like that sleeve wipe, although the flick seems more practical.

Been decorating bedroom all day today, waiting to play, and now I'm too tired and it's too late. Maybe after work tomorrow..

Hoping to get a few hours in this evening. I think compared to you hardcore samurai, I'm a dainty little katana swinging greenhorn who needs to catch up with your epic legends of *slash-chop! precision.

I knew I heard ghost/spirit sounds in the forest. Old lady at one of the survivor camp gives a side quest that verifies it. This one is really atmospheric. Leans heavily on the "follow the tracks" though. Been quite a few side quests where you follow the tracks. It's okay though, still been fun and enjoyable variety as far as setting, especially spooky night forest teeming with fire flies. Very cool little wrap up to that side quest too. I like how you complete the tale.

Pro-tip: If you're like me and have been riding around trying to clear out all the white fog on the map to see if there's collectibles, etc. - you don't have to.
I just cleared out the last occupied part of the southern region and it revealed the entire southern region along with all the places I hadn't visited yet.
So just focus on taking over Mongol camps.

I wonder if they have DLC planned for that area? Which begs the bigger question, I wonder if they have DLC planned at all? It would be a missed opportunity if they don't. Does Sucker Punch do DLC?

Ah, thanks.
If you dont have it yet, the arrow deflect skill is a must have.

Got the deflect arrow skill last night, wanted it right off the start after dealing with archers during battles.
I picked the wind chimes instead of bombs. I hope I don't regret it.
Have you guys ever done one of the shrines during a thunder storm? It's very cool. And a pro-tip about shrines: they are a great for collecting resources.

I thought about getting the smoke bombs - they look like they'd be pretty useful.
Just been travelling south, freeing peasants from roaming bands, raiding the odd fort, and collecting. I got the stand off perk which lets you kill 2 instead of one, its quite beneficial. Especially as when you've killed a few in a fight, it lets you get another stand off.
I killed everyone barring the archers on towers, got the option to call them all down for a fight, and they all conveniently got down so I could kill them more easily.
It feels great when you get every move right and chain a load of different attacks, gaining health from parrys. Just killed a gang in the moonlight in a huge pampas grass field - ghosted around picking them off first, then stood up and took out the rest; it was very satisfying.

Was heading up a hill on foot and heard a bear making a commotion. Upon hearing the noise I was thinking, yes! gonna get some leather! So I am running towards the bear growls and before I crest the crown of the hill, a spear wielding Mongol flies backwards into my line of site. I was all, WTF! He lands and runs right back over the top of the hill. I continue running towards that direction. As I come over summit and down the other side, this spear wielding mother fucker and his sword buddy kill the bear. I quickly run up and take the leather from the dead bear. They alert on me and turn their ill intentions my way. I water stance them into the quietude of oblivion. Was really unexpected the way that went down, but flippin' awesome!
