We'll see what the next few months bring. There were a lot of ultimatums during the election. Normally the post-election negotiations are civil but we might get a re-election if the left wing get angry. Immigration is a very sore issue.

It's actually endlessly amusing to me that Liberal Alliance, which is as Apt said it is and also an actual government party, might get less seats in Parliament than Alternativet, a party that is pretty much their exact opposite and often disregarded as crazy potheads.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Oh yes. Even better, Samuelsen, LAs party leader, didn't get in. That puts a smile on my face. Shame about Joachim B Olsen ( the guy from the pornhub commercial) I think he's a very good politician, though I hate his values).
Happy that Alternativet are still around. I voted for then last election.
They've been too stupid these past few years for me to vote for them this time around but I do like their crazy ideas.

Well, it's official - Boris Johnson is the UK PM.
Now we have yet another fucking buffoon with a bad haircut as a leader of an important country.
Is this another sign of the End Times or what?

Prepare yourself, without a miracle at our Federal election, in Canada we will get Andrew Scheer (Conservative, anti-climate change, anti-abortion, anti-liberal things) fuckwad as our new Prime minster because of SNC Lavalin scandal and a bunch of things Trudeau promised to do that he didn't.
Funnily enough that miracle might be how badly Doug Ford has alienated Ontario cons and Libs alike...making a possible Liberal win at least in the realm of possible...still, my faith in that is LOW.
So there is very likely to be THREE of these idiots running major world governments. Maybe it's time to move to Norway.

Well, John Kennedy (GOP Senator) DID just call the 'squad' the four horsewomen of the apocalypse. So I mean, the end should be nigh, right? XD
Also, surprisingly progressive of him to assign the traditionally male role of God's apocalyptic heralds to women. Also hilariously wrong about the bible, unsurprisingly. So I guess the surprise evens out.

Genuinely surprised we haven't had more Jo Cox's yet.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Oddly, no one who's raised the 'muh tolerant left' argument with me has had any comeback to that name being mentioned.
Same though, civil unrest is almost a given at this stage and I feel like violence against left wing politicians coupled with idiot right wingers realising that Brexit fucks them will be what sets the keg to detonate.

She was murdered by someone who'd gone to the far right because she voted against jingoistic nationalism.
And yeah, pretty much what Apt said.

So ... China, huh? Slowly becoming the elephant in the room - Hong Kong, Taiwan, South China Sea, Belt and Road etc etc etc ...

I wonder what that Beijing shill we had ages ago would say about all this? What was his name? Was it Bottle?
Actually, I can imagine what he would say and it would just be the Party line.

'The Shocking Paper Predicting the End of Democracy
Human brains aren’t built for self-rule, says Shawn Rosenberg. That’s more evident than ever.
[...] Democracy is hard work. And as society’s “elites”—experts and public figures who help those around them navigate the heavy responsibilities that come with self-rule—have increasingly been sidelined, citizens have proved ill equipped cognitively and emotionally to run a well-functioning democracy. As a consequence, the center has collapsed and millions of frustrated and angst-filled voters have turned in desperation to right-wing populists.
His prediction? “In well-established democracies like the United States, democratic governance will continue its inexorable decline and will eventually fail.”
[...] He has concluded that the reason for right-wing populists’ recent success is that “elites” are losing control of the institutions that have traditionally saved people from their most undemocratic impulses. When people are left to make political decisions on their own they drift toward the simple solutions right-wing populists worldwide offer: a deadly mix of xenophobia, racism and authoritarianism.
[...] While the elites formerly might have successfully squashed conspiracy theories and called out populists for their inconsistencies, today fewer and fewer citizens take the elites seriously. Now that people get their news from social media rather than from established newspapers or the old three TV news networks (ABC, CBS and NBC), fake news proliferates.
[...] Compared with the harsh demands made by democracy, which requires a tolerance for compromise and diversity, right-wing populism is like cotton candy.'

Poland’s slide into christian conservative authoritarianism is truly depressing to watch. I guess this is the consequence of «brain drain» where smart and/or ambitious people go somewhere else.
