This Tuff always shocks me because it seems shortsided. Inevitably as as happened now word will get out. Now the backlash, investigations and law suits will begin.

Rezzing this so that we can laugh at the fact he's showing the world in real time how utterly inept he is by burning down Twitter in real time.

If he stays on as the owner, it's not likely that we'll even have Twitter in a year or so.

I’m sure it’s just him that sucks. Tech billionaires in general are still good and smart and should have an outsized influence on everybody’s lives, to the betterment of all.

He seems to be truying to run one of the largest tech companies like its a startup of 5 founders with equity in the basement. He stands to lose billions but for employee 2346 there is no incentive except keeping there job to work 80 hours a week. If there wasnt a looming recession and layoffs at FB and amazon etc I suspect the entire enginerring team would have already quit. The only think keeping them so far is a supressed job market. Even still there cant be reason for them to commit to be Hardcore when they ahve better options.

Surely Musk is doing the world a favour in burning down Twitter. Hopefully he buys TikTok and Facebook next.

It was a frivolous comment.

I feel sorry for the staff and what he is putting them through but couldn't give a toss about social media.

No one's going to want to tie themselves to him now. I imagine securing loans in the billionaire way of doing it might not be quite as easy now.

I'm quite enjoying the spectacle tbh.

How do you start a small tech business in America?

Give a big tech business to Elon Musk. :p

I sort of realized that, but there's just too many people who are actually suggesting he should just "buy" Facebook and TikTok and then just shut them down. As if he could just do that out of pocket.

I suppose it's less expensive with Facebook these days, though.

I'm bummed. I liked Twitter. I can ack all of its flaws and shortcomings and flat out wrongnesses, but at the end of the day i could open the app and have fun interactions w people who liked the same things i do. I'll miss that if it well and truly dies or goes full truth social.

Well, it would seem getting divorced wasn't all that great for Musk's mental health. Following him on Twitter now is like keeping an eye on that one racist family member on facebook.

He's gone insane...

BBC News - Twitter bans some journalists who cover Elon Musk

Also the bit towards the end blocking anything to do with Mastodon... If anyone still thinks it's about "free speech" they're lying to themselves.
