I think it speaks to my point about him being featured heavily in S2....I would argue nitpicking the naming specifics does not discount my overall point about the show not being JUST about Din and Grogu.

Oh yeah, agreed. I was just he isn't a proper Mandalorian under the new canon, even if he kinda sorta maybe could be.
And yes, it's funny and ironic because of that old comic you pointed out introducing him as a Mandolorian, which is where they got the idea from. Interesting to see how it morphed over the years.

That was a GREAT episode.

Firstly, the "spies" (plural) of the title are clearly Elia for one...but the other(s) will be whoever sold the Mando's out to bring them to Gideon...my money is on the Armorer (she could very well be Rook Kast; which opens up all kinds of drama with Bo-Katan, since her former master Maul beheaded her sister Satine), but it could be Axe Woves, or could even be the Mandalorians who survived on planet since the Purge. We'll find out next week.

Paz. My boy Paz went out in one of the all time best last stands I've ever seen. A friend complained that he could have "flown away" after the Praetorian Guard shows up....but nope, watching the scene TWO of the Praetorian Guard focus on disabling his jetpack before stabbing him with the final blows. IT's an exquisitely shot death. The overheated gattling gun, the arm shield, taking out ALL the normal enemies, only to be exhausted and almost out of health when and even strong baddie shows up...that is some Dark Souls level shit man. Amazing.

If they both get out of this, I fully expect Bo-Katan and Din to knock da boots.

Ragnar Viszla is now the last of his line.

Grogu's mecha is cool as fuck. It SHOULD be ridiculous, but it's somehow not? He's in his Krang Era. Also, him spamming the "yes" "no" buttons is like when your friends get your kid a toy that seems really cool but makes noise and within a day you want to throw it away without them knowing. Brilliant.

That Light Cruiser with the Mythosaur logo painted across it was dope AS FUCK.

PELLEON! holy shit, Old EU fans will know the realness of what Pelleon showing up is...he starts off as Thrawn's right hand, but ends up as SO much more. I hope he gets that sort of role going forward even into Rey's era of the NJO.

Hux's sadistic abusive POS father Brendol Hux being on the Shadow Council is about right...and PLAYED by Gleeson's real life younger brother! Cool AF.


So I feel like a Thrawn reveal next week is all but assured. As is Grogu becoming the Mandalore by using his force powers to summon and befriend the Mythosaur to take out Gideons place and rescue Din.

I like the show, I enjoy watching it. So I hate being like this but for me the last stand came across as silly. He covered the retreat because there were too many, when in actuality it looked like if they had just supported Vizla they could have won the day and finished the series that much sooner.

He cleared the whole room. I’m guessing that you could argue that more storm-mandalorians were nearby but it looks like he killed them all only to be defeated by the praetorian guard.

Either way it seems like he could have at least escaped successfully. There were ways to show his last stand as heroic and badass without making it seem like there was no danger in the first place.


I also got the impression that Gideon wasn’t so much alerted to the fact that the mandolorians would be going to mandelore so much as that mandelore has always been his secret home base. He had a facility, he had hangars for fighters, he has obviously been mining beskar for his soldiers for a long time and explains actually why he had beskar ignots to pay for grogu in season 1.

Also I think implies axe wolves rescuing him as a mercenary was a red herring. His own beskar troops rescued him.

Again, neither he, nor Bo-Katan nor everyone else KNEW how many were there going to be. That he took them all out was a fluke as much as anything else. You're looking at it as someone with hindsight....in the moment they all made the right calls.

Um....the whole episode starts with him being alerted to their plans to take back Mandalore by Elia and his comment that this is not good for him or the Shadow Council/Imperial Remnant...again, are we both watching the same show? You're straight up missing stuff dude.

I’m not caught up, so I can’t answer the specifics of your question. But you need to watch Rebels and most of Clone Wars because they’re freaking awesome.

Typically Clone Wars fed into Rebels and now Rebels is feeding into where we're going next. If you have time you should watch both, but if you have to pick one it should be Rebels. When CW material gets pulled in for Rebels, that show typically does a good job of filling in the pieces that you'll need.

Yeah, Filoni writers this stuff so you don't HAVE to watch the stuff that came before to know what's happening, but SB is right you should because both are excellent and they will enhance your viewing of this.

For the Ashoka show you should especially watch both to really get a rewarding experience from that in August.

Bo drawing the Darksaber mid-flight as she led all of the Mandalorians in to battle was thrilling. I got shivers.

A shaky season that ended on a high note is my verdict.

Basically half great episodes, half so-so. Some where just a bit too close to what made the Book of Boba crap and a few of episodes where basically half crap, half good which is just confusing

Give me more of our main mandalorian, grogu and imperial remnant which seems to be the path we are going down so I'm optimistic.

They axed the EU to give them more room to tell stories. If they want to import some of the better storylines and characters, go ahead and add them back in. And those EU stories still exist, we can always go back and read or play them. I consider them all to be valid SW stories and I do not care which are declared Canon or not.

I think Mando is fairly mediocre, but I am excited for Ashoka to tie together characters and stories from Clone Wars, Rebels, and Zahn's books!
