He taught me you can have a cocaine problem and still be a fatass.

I did say hopefully. A lot of conservative voters outside the GTA rolled their eyes at Ford nation even at the time. The province still has a lot of red tories who are dying to vote out Wynne, but could go any number of ways if the main alternative is a Ford. But again, in the Trump era, anything is possible.

Put it this way, if Mulroney or Elliott is leader, the PCs have a shot at my vote. If Ford is, no shot.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

And Radwanski has a thing on the Globe and Mail today mentioning that the stupid "don't teach my kids sex" lady who joined the race is most likely a stalking horse who will sign up a lot of her social conservative coalition, and then end up throwing that support at someone. And Rob is the most happy of the 3 major candidates to throw red meat at social conservatives.

The whole PC platform is saying they will revisit the sex ed curriculum thing...because they are all pearl clutching conservatives I guess. Sad really.

Wow, the accusations against Mark Cuban's Dallas Mavericks organization and how sexual misconduct is endemic to the culture there. How easily he plays the "I was totally unaware these things were going on" and "there is zero tolerance for this kind of behavior" corporate speak. Yeah right. And this pos has hinted that he may run for president.

Yeah, some of the stories coming out of there are down right fucked up. I'll never understand the gall of these people.

Basically its been your average culture of sexual harassment and misogyny. The one i was referring to was a reporter for the team who was arrested multiple times for abuse and domestic violence and the team kept him on throughout them all.

So no one has mentioned it here yet, and since the victim is one of my favourite actors, Brendan Fraser, I thought I'd mention it...even though you've probably all heard.

Fraser has accused Hollywood Foreign Press Association's (the people who put on the Golden Globes) former president Philip Berk of sexual assault. The details are that in 2003 (at some event) Berk fondled Frasers butt and pushed his fingers into the area of his "taint" (Fraser's words). The accusation holds water because Berk apparently responded when INITIALLY contacted about the incident by Fraser's representatives with a letter of apology saying sorry, but that he didn't "view" it the same way as Fraser did. Regardless of intent, even if it was Berk's attempt at a joke, it's how the interaction left Fraser FEELING that caused the upset in the actor. It's why he took tiny roles over the next 5 years, as the incident really just made him feel small, and like he'd done something wrong.

I don't think he's claimed that he was blacklisted or anything as a result as some outlets are saying, but just that it affected him on a deeply personal level and made him disconnect with the world he'd entered.

It's just one more thing in the actors life that caused the last decade or so to be very difficult, including a divorce and alimony battle, his mothers death from cancer (there's an interview of him from his time on THE AFFAIR and he basically looked wrecked, and whispers the interview in a sad voice....and it turned out his mother had JUST died and no one knew), and a few other things (poor career choices and trajectories).

Anyways, glad he called Berk out. Also this would be the reason that Fraser did not attend the Golden Globes between I think 2003 and 2010 (when he did the crazy clap that everyone "memed") as he didn't want to be in the same room with Berk who was president during those years.

The GQ article where all this came out is well worth reading, not just about the incident, but about all the problems that went on that caused him to be out of the limelight in the last while, and touches on his most recent roles that hopefully speak of a resurgence of his career.

Alex Jones. Perhaps he'll explain it away the way he did the Parkland shooting: '“Look, this whole thing never happened,” said Jones on “InfoWars.” “These kids are human-reptilian shapeshifters, employed by Obama, who can morph their skin to create fake wounds.”'

I saw that Monica Lewinsky is now saying there wasn't consent 20 years ago. Bill Clinton down?

Not really.

She's not changing her story on what happened. She is waxing philosophical on what consent really means, and the implicit power imbalance in the relationship.

And MeToo have been reexamining their thoughts on Bill for months while he kept a low profile.

Good old Oglaf, on topic. (Apologies if this contravenes subforum guidelines, but I thought it was relevant. Also, wishful thinking.)

This is pretty tame for OGLAF. You're fine.

Considering how corrupt the Oscars are, expectations of some kind of magnanimous display of solidarity shouldn't really be expected, unless they see some kind of PR value in it.
