Switzerland may very well have had the worst series of PKs in any competition, including u14 club football.
What's up with the red cards in this Euros too?

Just like Rashford?
I actually don't know much about Sancho. Lot of money to spend on a guy and we haven't always had too much success with big money signings (still waiting for Pogba to be as good as I know he can be consistently)

What do you mean what's up with the red cards.
Rashford is home grown, big money transfers in don't tend to do well at man u.

Seems to be more red cards than normal this Euros. Maybe it's just my impression though.

Can't say I've noticed more. The consensus seems to be that it's been quite lenient reffing and good use of VAR unless you do a sliding tackle off the ground which is dangerous.

Yeah my Rashford comment was pointed at Macros saying United players automatically get a start. Rashford doesn't.
My other comment re: Sancho was in relation to big money transfers - I agree with you, recently they don't seem to do so well (though this is a pattern perhaps more universal than Man Utd. Remember when Torres went to Chelsea?)

Ah sorry misread.
My rule of thumb is usually to give players moving from another league a season to adjust. So Chelsea's current lot should come good this season. But yeah Torres is a good example. Guess it's the mindset coming from the price tag.

Nah I should have made it clearer I think there was only Macros to reply to when I started writing but others posted around the same time and suddenly I was a few down haha
Belgium Italy game is pretty good but was hoping for a Belgium win. I hope whoever gets through beats Spain regardless.

I sincerely hope Spain's luck finally runs out vs Italy. I really hate Spain when it comes to football.

Italy is the team to beat this tournament. The metamorphosis they've made is astounding. They used to be the antithesis of everything I love about football, with their ultradefensive, whiny, card begging, theatrics playing style. But somehow they have transformed into a flowing attacking side which is really fun to watch. Same as what happened to the Germans a decade ago. It is just great. Still a few remnants of the old Italy left, like Verratti rolling on the floor as if shot and the final few minutes of yesterday's match when they pulled out all the stops to keep the Belgian final desperate push at bay. But overall this is an Italy I could get behind. And that is something I would never have dreamt myself saying (still got Euro 2000 trauma). If they win the tournemant it would be a well deserved victory. Can't see the English or the Slanish stopping this well oiled machine.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Really feel for Spinazzola as well. Looked like a bad misstep, possibly ligaments? Might be a very long recovery.

They still do the card begging, theatrics and ultra defensive, they're just a bit more easy on the eye going forward now. Doesnt forgive their other sins. Verrati and Immobile their first goal last night were prime examples.

3 teams in white jerseys (coincidentally, who played all their group games at home) won their quarter-finals.
I'm sensing an unwelcome pattern here.....

Bad luck, Ment.
Feels wrong to have ended a knockout England game without feeling like I've been through the wringer.

Well, we had half a good game there.
I am disappointed that we didn't score, because I don't think any other team this tourney got THIS many runners behind English D successfully.
With the amount of breakaways and the time the ball spent in the English Box, 3:1, 2:1 would've been an appropriate score. But oh well, onto the Quatar qualifiers, where still need to play France at home and bounce back from the 2 home draws with Finland and Kazakhstan and get those away wins if we wanna make it.
Quarter-finals stays the top achievement for UA across Euro and World Cup (for now). But at least we broke the "no goals at Euros since 2012" curse; and I don't think I've ever seen this much running from Ukraine as a team as I did in the 1st half; ideally they take this energy to the upcoming World Cup qualifiers
