I fancy England beating either Sweden or Ukraine in fairness but similarly I can see either team stepping up to the task and beating us.
I'm also worried about all the dumbass right wing drongos who are going to use us beating Germany as some supremacy agenda...

Well it makes hypocrites of them as they hate Raheem Sterling and the knee taking. So fuck em either way. Just need Rashford to get a few goals now and the Daily Mail will auto destruct when trying to do positive match write ups.
English / Welsh household relations have taken a turn. There are cracks showing in the brainwashing of our kid who has been raised believing Wales are the greatest footballing nation on earth.

Well, we're making a game of it. Sucks with the deflection, but they're making chances, and Zinchenko is stepping up, showing that ManCity class.
If we go a goal down, Malynovskyi probably gonna get called in.
As long as the mids keep hustling back, I'm not going to be crushed with disappointment.

How are you holding up, Ment? This game feels like it is never going to end.

The crossbar and goalposts have seen so much action I think there is a case for harassment.

well, that happened.
Photofinish, to keep my nerves rattled.
No offense, but if Ukraine runs, on a good day, we can give England a game. If everyone's gonna be gassed, (the D especially- the Dynamo backline is really struggling to keep up with other teams in the fitness department, and Karavayev/Yarmolenko linkup is basically essential to our attacking capacity). If Karavayev gonna be givign away every ball the same way he did against Austria, it'll be a walkover, but if Sheva gets the players pumped and ready to give it their all, we can make things happen.
3 third place teams made it through round of 16. That's pretty insane.
Now I gotta look forward to another stressful day, because we're taking this one step at a time, I'm not setting our sights for anything crazy.

I'll be honest Ment I'd love to see Ukraine go far because I like it when "not-the-usual" teams do well, even against England (see Iceland in the last competition for example) so if you guys go through I'll be rooting for them!

Great stuff! With the Netherlands out I'm obviously rooting for my new home country, so chuffed that England is through.
Objectively speaking though, I thought they were quite poor. I really don't like Southgate's defensive and conservative approach. England has got lots of flair and creativity just withering away on the bench, it is almost criminal. Starting with 8 defensive-minded players in the team really hurts my Dutch football heart, when you have guys like Grealish, Sancho and Foden in your squad. But hey, I guess he got the result so there is no arguing with a winning coach. This approach is not going to win you the tournament though, at some point it requires some flair and creative juices in midfield to really spar with the top dogs. The matches against Ukraine and (assuming they win that one) Denmark or the Czech Republic would be perfect moments to try a more attacking squad. If you start this defensively against Ukraine, you're shooting yourself in the foot, because Ukraine will just lean back, soak up the stunted attacks and hit England hard on the counter. Same with the Danes and the Czechs. So you need creativity to break down those barriers.
Then again, the top dogs are now just Belgium and Italy (with Spain as an outsider). And one of them will knock the other out next round. So the likely final seems to be England-Italy. At Wembley. If England ever stood a chance to win major gold, it is this year.

Pickford has been playing well, so he's overdue for a moment that will tear the heart out of England supporters.
I'm rooting for Ukraine (I don't back out of my promises), but if it comes to Ukraine vs Denmark it's gonna be tough. Great story for Denmark to ride that emotion.
What is the latest injury status with Belgium? I would have them to take it all if not for the injuries.

Nice to see England fans showing their true sporting attitude during the anthems and when a little German girl got upset. Wow.
You stay classy, England.

No one can argue with you there. That sort of stuff is the reason a lot of Liverpool fans are not wanting England to do well. Scouse not English is a thing. I want England to do well, but not for the fans. The fans can go suck a bag of dicks.

I hope De Bruyne can play; otherwise, Belgium is gonna sit back and let Italy press them, and that won't end well.
My dream is for a Swiss-Belgium semifinal in that bracket.
EDIT: Denmark's high press is likely to be very effective against UA's D (if we get that far). The most reliable way to beat us is to wear out the defenders' stamina with constant pressure, force mistakes and turnovers and eventually it will lead to goals. There's always the risk of a breakout counter, ofc, which can change the game's rhythm if we manage to score (and we have at least 4 players up top who can finish now), but overall, that's definitely the team's weakness.

You're a Man United fan yes? Are you happy with Jadon Sancho?
Personally I don't think he's the fix you need. Center Mid area, and Centre back would have been a better area to improve in.
On the Jadon Sancho front, you got to wonder why Saka and Foden are ahead of him in the picking order for RW. It is a bizarre situation, is it just because he plays in Germany instead of England.
He must be training with the squad

I think its possible the transfer saga has turned his head so he's not mentally in the right headspace. That's the only reason I can see for not utilising him so far.
