It would be nice to see a strong resolution to the Dorne arc, it's certainly been one of the weakest for me.

In any case it is some horrible writing from the show's scriptwriters. Jorah knows fully well how infectious greyscale is, judging by his explicit warning to Tyrion not to let the stone men touch him. He clearly recognises the disease for what it is and knows he is infected. So why on earth does he subsequently offer his (ungloved) hand to the woman he loves? Sure, Targaryens or dragonblooded might turn out to be protected, but surely Jorah cannot know this? Unless he deliberately wants Dany to get greyscale as some sort of rejection revenge? Makes no sense.

Ok I hadn't even thought of it till the last few pgs cause I was fairly confident book wise it was only contact with the scale so he could hold hands all day long till it spreads that far. Then again this is the Alt Uni show so he could be fucking everyone over. Shireen got it from a toy in show. How did she get it in bk? If she got it from toy then my book theory is busted.

How is everyone sure she got it from a toy? That's what Stannis said and given his often shaky understanding of things, I'm not that willing to credit it all that strongly.

The hazily understood vectors appear to be water related, rather than contact related.

Is Stannis really an unreliable narrator though? I dunno if he's been painted that way. As such I'm inclined to believe him if he said it's the case.

Agreed, Stannis is many things, including possibly one of fictions worst fathers ever, but he certainly does not strike me as someone who doesn't say the complete and 100% truth as he sees it. Even when he should shut up and keep quiet. Though as Amphibian says, maybe Stannis doesnt fully understand how greyscale spreads anyway.

No maybes about it. None of these people are microbiologists. Rats just barely got off the hook for the Plague in our real world. These people know nothing.

This week's episode is going to be crazy rushed.

Cersei's walk
Myrcella's ear (or whatever)
Stannis at Winterfell
Theon and Sansa (and Yara?)
Brienne and Pod
Arya and Ser Meryn
Arya and the thin man/Jaqen
Dany and Drogon [unless they skip Dany, which seems unlikely]
Tyrion and Jorah and Daario
Sam and Gilly depart
Jon gets stabbed
Varys, Kevan, and Pycelle
White Walkers
Balon

That's just based on the casting listed on IMDB and the tidbits we've gotten in the news. Surely Sam has to depart before Jon gets stabbed; they foreshadowed Oldtown, and Aemon admonished Sam to take Gilly south before it was too late.

That's your best argument against the return of Lady Stoneheart right there.

I think they may skip anything substantial with Missandei, Tyrion, Jorah and Daario, as well as Varys, Kevan and Pycelle.

Jon getting stabbed is my bet for last scene over Arya going blond.

Ooh, good typo there.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Whether it happens in ep 10 or next season (and I agree with amph on the prioritization), I'm really really really really really gonna miss Pycelle.

Also, Cersei's walk = intro of Robert Strong too, most likely. Can't wait to see what he looks like.

I don't see them doing the Varys thing anywhere but at the end of a season, whether it's this season or next. But if it's next, they're going to have to make up stuff for Kevan and Pycelle to do all season long, and the budget is already tight.

It was the epilogue in ADWD, after Jon's stabbing, so I don't see why it can't be the same way in the show. I could see it either way, but if the Jon scene requires any kind of set-up at all, I don't think it will be last. They'll follow his stabbing with one or two scenes in quick succession: Arya and Varys. The Dorne drama will precede Jon and (hopefully) Sam will be sent away in an earlier scene.

I also doubt they will spend much time on Tyrion et al., but they were shown in the preview so we know there will be a scene with them, presumably setting up the next season, either with news of the coming invasion or the first outbreak of greyscale. And I imagine Dany will land somewhere in the Dothraki sea, at least.

Oh, I forgot one scene (which I will add to my post). Balon has to die at some point; they have been hinting at it so I am expecting it this week. If they don't do it this season, then it's too far removed from the leeches, which were way back in season 3.

Mwoah, Brienne and Pod are in it. I assume they would be the ones who'd run into Lady Stoneheart. Also, if you have Jon dying, you need to remind and affirm to non-readers that resurrection (Beric) is a possibility. So Having Lady Stoneheart enter the stage after Jon's stabbing might give the viewers a bit of hope.

Unless you assume that Jon never died in the first place in the books.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

In Regards to Jorah. My take on it is the rather simple: here is a man with a death sentence but who has chosen the ridiculous path of just pretending it never happened. He is filling in for Jon Connington who did the same thing. Neither man is willing to die or give up. Neither man will accept living their remaining days in pain in the grey scale leper colonies. Both men cover the symptoms of the disease and try to keep living their lives as if nothing has happened. Once the human mind makes such a choice it can justify almost anything. Both men will cause pain and suffering as a result. I even think both will come to regret it. Still Neither is capable of looking at the truth of it just yet.

They're trying to make a cliffhanger out of it like GRRM; they don't want to be too obvious. Melisandre going to visit Thoros was obvious enough, and far enough removed to leave viewers in suspense (aside from those who read the interwebz or interrogate their book friends after every episode).

By way of a warning for those who may wish to avoid them, there are four leaked images of the last episode on Imgur. One pretty much confirms the end of Jon's arc. Since I hit them rather by accident, I thought it was worth a warning!

I'm guessing that's not the photos I saw, which I took for official photos. But just in case...

Spoiler

Looking forward to tonight!

Much more explicit I'm afraid. Just thought I'd post because I stumbled upon then, didn't want anyone else to do so if it could be avoided.

I'm going to get of the Internet entirely until tomorrow night.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Indeed. I thought I had stumbled upon spoiler images of the Cock Merchant's shop, but luckily it turned out to be just some random website unrelated to the show. If anyone wants the link, PM me.

I stumbled upon them and....fuck! Well, it's not as if I wasn't certain that that was what was going to happen. But still, I hate spoilers.

The battle of winterfell scene was not disappointing at all. Very well done.

Brienne's execution of Stannis was a masterful scene. Same with Arya's execution of Meryn.

That Jaqen scene was dope, glad Arya is blind and they didn't skip that.

Sort of annoyed at the direction Myrcella's storyline went. She was shaping up to be interesting.

The dothraki clan was also very cool to see - the long shots of armies in this episode were awesome.

Cersei's walk of shame was magnificently brutal. And ROBERT STRONG WAS PERFECT.

Mel made it to Castle Black before For The Watch...hmmmm. Another brutal scene. Too bad the Benjen clip in the Previously On was a ruse.

I agree she was interesting, but at the same time, I'm glad. We knew she was going to die eventually along with Tommen, and all the drama with crowning her and cutting off her ear was just prolonging it.

It was perfect. I was so scared they would screw it up by playing it down, but they did it proper.

We all knew it wasn't actually going to be Benjen, didn't we? But we didn't know what it would be about until Olly came for him.

I think I just fell in love with Jon Snow. I didn't think I was susceptible, until tonight.

GRRM had better hurry up. They can only stall so much next season.

This ep was better than Hardhome.
