The Demonreach island is powered by the convergence of Laylines. Not the Merlin. I don't care if the Merlin was an actual Elder God, nobody has the personal power to keep thousands of super powerful creatures like the Nagloshii trapped permanently in stasis.

No. The layline at demonreach is the 'extra heat' given off by all those huge powers. What granted demonreach the power to contain those first few? Its like a battery and a car. The battery has to be there to start the car, but once it is going (assuming you are using an internal combustion engine) the car has a different source of fuel, however if you take the battery out while the car is running, it stops.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

Am I remembering that wrong? They are creating the ley lines?
That somehow seems counter-intuitive to how leylines are normally depicted. Or do they function as a kind of run-off point that lets all that evil siphon away?

That is it exactly, the imprisoned creatures generate tons of evil energy that spreads out from demonreach as a bunch of dark ley lines

Have you guys seen this?
So we've known for a while that Jim has wanted to do a "parallel universe" type book, and as of fairly recently we've gotten more details on it: that it will be the 17th book (Called Mirror Mirror) and will take place when one Harry decides to fake his own death by summoning one of his other selves to kill. Other Harry, as we just found out, exists in a universe where he made "one different choice"--the choice at the end of Grave Peril. At Bianca's party, when he was offered the chance to leave peacefully and leave Susan behind, this Harry chose to avoid war, he chose to go in peace, and he chose to let Susan die.
Sounds like fun!

My question is;
It has been hinted at in previous books that the supernatural world wants to remain as secret as possible because the human race is sick a destructive force when they find out about something ie vampires and werewolves, do you think Harry will bring Mortals in to save the world, all mortals not just a few

No, because the point of an "apocalyptic trilogy" is that mankind as a whole is threatened to the point of extinction. They'll have no means to defend what they are up against, which is I'm now thinking the Outsiders.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I googled and didn't see anything. I'm going to assume you've either been trolled or are trolling us until I see a source.

If it happened, Our Harry would wake up with a goatee drawn on with marker so Alt Harry would be definitively The Good One.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I think it is probably from here, but I haven't found the original source for this... Probably one of the book signing tours.

Lots of stuff here (and then I haven't even watched all of it):
Butcher Q&A
E.g.,hopefully got it right,
- talks about Peace Talks
- confirms next after that is Mirror Mirror
- what Harry thinks he knows about the mantle's powers is fishy as discussed above
- seems to confirm Harry is writing the first-person accounts for "the next one" (I take that as Harry becoming the Merlin)
- there will be a novella about Murphy and Kincaid in Hawaii for the next short story collection (collection will be named Brief Cases)
- wizard sitting under south pole is short story material (interesting given Molly under the ice)
- favourite urban fantasy is Jacka's Alex Verus

Oh no, he grew his hair long again, that big nerd. I prefered when he looked less comic-con.

That was a very long but enjoyable Q&A. Quality recording, and only a tiny handful of aggravating people with stupid questions.
Cheers for posting PI.

you realise almost none of us have latched onto the fact that Harry suggested time travel is do-able?
meh. Link was dead :(
