All we know about Drakul is that he's a free standing lord under the Accords, his son Dracula joined the Black Court in a fit of teenage rebellion, and he retained the Hellhound as his right hand for a few centuries. And that he's a badass. Ebenezer talks about him in Blood Rites post handburning mission.

And that he has the raw power to go toe to toe with Mab.

I feel the need to re-read the entire series again form the start. I may do this soon.

I did a full reread before Ghost Story and another one before Cold Days... going to wait a bit now before doing that again but I am reading through Skin Game again at the minute!

If you do it now it'll be nice and fresh for another reread before book 21 comes out... in seven years
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I was in the process of doing this when Skin Game came out. I had just finished Death Masks, and it turned out to be a perfect primer for Skin Game given Valmont's return. I then took a hiatus from my reread to read Skin Game, and now I'm back into the reread! Just finished Dead Beat last night, and started Proven Guilty - it's really quite fun, and they are extremely easy reads the second time around, cause you can skip the recap paragraphs like where he explains how the Blue Beetle is not actually blue anymore, or how Murphy is five foot nothing and has a gymnast's build, and how his lab has all kinds of stuff in it, except there's a shelf with a skull, 2 candles and romance novels, and only one clear space on the floor with only a silver ring, his summoning ring, on it, and so on, cause they always say the exact same thing. It makes getting through the books quite a breeze!

I have been doing a reread but in reverse order. Book 1 always blocks me. Sometimes I wonder how I managed to push through past it to enjoy this incredible series

@Abyss-Your recall of the subject matter is damn impressive without rereads

A re read or 3 is going to be a must for me as well. I didn't even remember Anna.

Or Binder infact... What book was he in?

The one with Morgan on the run from the council. I want to say Small Favor but I'm terrible with names...

Anna's book 5, Death Masks, and Binder's book 11, Turn Coat.

That's Turn Coat.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Uh, book 10, Small Favor, is the second Denarian book and doesn't have Binder in it, where as book 11, Turn Coat, does.

Incidentally I heard that the pattern for prime numbers that aren't already in a pattern like the vampires (every third book), faeries (every four) or Denarians (every five) are all evil wizards, which makes sense to me. 1, 2, 7, 11, 13, and we can but wait for 17 and 19.

I fully support Butcher's pursuit of a high prime number of books written. If he keeps on at this pace, we could get to a number like 47.

Well if it ends on 23 that is a prime number.

We want more than 23, silly.

The Dresdencrack cravings require satiation beyond that lowly prime number.

I should note that in previous re-reads I always skip books 1 & 2 and start with GRAVE PERIL.

Does "23" have more significance to the Dresden Files universe than a simple affinity for prime numbers? One wizard's home city might crack this mystery wide open!
