Was at the Chelsea Liverpool game.
Kop end. Immense atmosphere, and boy did Jose have those boys well instructed to waste time. First time I've seen synchronized cramping (in the first half no less). Haters gonna hate, but I love reading Joses rant about Alardyces 'anti football' back in January.
his post match interview is genious "what is time wasting?"
"what is defense set up?"

Yeah. Mourinho is a bit of a pleb. Seems to work though. Also I think that slip could potentially haunt Gerrard forever...

I honestly think most of the Bayern side decided to take a break for the world cup.

I'd be surprised if the players really didn't care too much about the CL with the Brazil slog to glorious trophy coming up soon.

Or possibly last year Bayern were playing a different game that suited their players better and Pepe is a one trick pony.

They'd have been the first team to do a double Champions League victory, as well as having the chance of a double triple (domestic title, domestic cup, Champion's League). That should be enough to motivate them. For guys like Mandzukic (being replaced by Lewandowski), Kroos (connected to ManU) and maybe Robben or Ribéry the CL is also the place to prove themselves in order to receive offers from elsewhere, I guess.

Also, Guardiola's team lacked goal attempts of any kind. Robben was in double coverage, so was Ribéry, and Mandzukic was shielded by Ramos/Pepe. I don't think I saw anyone but them try a dribble into the box, a sharp cross or a shot at goal until well into the second half when Götze was brought on.

I think the problem was Guardiola played right into Reals hands, playing such a ridiculous high line against the 'BBC' combo, with players like Modric and Alonso to feed them, they were always going to get picked apart. Also Man Utd showed they were prone to lapses on set plays yet he still went for zonal marking, not surprised Real went through, only by the manner of the defeat.

I think he was too arrogant, going in with the attitude 'we're Bayern and we will beat anyone,' well the team he has, he can do that with maybe 90% of the teams out there but this was Real in the semi-final of the Champions League, you've got to adapt and play the team in front of you, it didn't seem like he set up to play Real, tactics were all wrong and they suffered for that!

I would blame Pep more than the players!

So. For the first time ever I got to see Utd play live. And they were most uninspiring. Hopefully next season!

Also Moses will undoubtedly do a sterling job of replacing Hazard next season. :D

Whoa, I haven't seen a choke like that since Greg Norman at the 1996 US Masters, South Africa vs Australia in the 1999 Cricket World Cup semis or Team New Zealand in the Americas Cup last year.

Well done for joining such ... distinguished ... company.

Who'da thunk it 9 days ago? :)

Pretty sure United fans delight at us finishing second whilst they languish in 7th is the most amusing thing this season.
that or £27m for Fellani

I bet that in two decades of finishing below United, there was at least one time you were delighted at some piece of misfortune that befell us.

And the same will probably be true next season.

Actually no, the best thing is watching united fans of my age, who've never experienced an awful season totally lost and the vitriol they're spewing forth as a coping mechanism. Marvelous stuff

It's like Liverpool and Sunderland simply switched the last 2 weeks of their seasons. "Never Say Die" meets "Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory".
