It does seem to be worth the time. While the rep reward items aren't great unless you're into the aesthetic stuff, I got a purple chest as a reward from the very first QW mission I did. From what I've heard, a purple chest/helm/weapon isn't all that uncommon to get. Seems to be better odds than farming the cave then hoping the Cryptarch doesn't continue crushing your hopes and dreams.

I haven't done a mission yet but I did 3 bounties. One was kill 200 fallen precision kills. That shit took forever.

I still haven't gotten a purple...FUCK I'm getting pissed at that.

If you did one of the bounties, you get 'queens orders' special mission objective you can play. Level 24 story missions that have 3 effects active (1 is heroic which means there are more, stronger enemies, the other two are random) that if you complete, you get legendary armor that I believe is tailored to your class.

I was playing last night on Venus, and it turns out that the QW bounties are doable at any level, as long as you've got space (I had to abandon another bounty to take one on), so I'll probably do that tonight since the event is only up till Oct 6th, I'd rather get started now.

New bug/glitch at the farming cave.

Apparently the engram drops respond to movement and not the shooting.

So people have started standing where they would to shoot and instead just look at the ground and spins endlessly...the video of the guy doing it produced at least 5 engram drops.

I'm sure they'll fix this, but get on it now without firing a shot. :)

I'm usually on after work during the week for a bit. My wife goes to the gym around 5-6 usually, so I get an hour or two before she gets home. On the weekend it will be all hours available.

It's a way of classifying the quality of loot that is commonplace in most MMOs/loot-based games.

In Destiny:

White-Common
Green-Uncommon
Blue-Rare
Purple-Legendary
Orange-Exotic

Each tier is better than the last. A level 20 legendary will have better stats than a level 20 rare. Within each tier, though, it's largely personal preference - do you prefer light, intellect, or discipline? What special modifiers do you like your armor to have? There isn't exactly mind-blowing customization options, but there's definitely room to tune things to your liking.

ISnt that exactly the same system as Borderlands 2?

Is anyone playing this on the 360? Is it worth me buying now while the online is very popular? Or should I play Fallout 3 which ive never played before?

Need something to sink my teeth into at the moment otherwise another Dark Souls 2 playthrough will likely win.

I'm literally shaking I'm so pissed off! The people with fusion guns are so unfair! And how the fuck do you get shields? Everytime I go after someone they destroy me cause I can't get past the shield and they just walk toward me until I'm dead.

Everyone has shields? XD

The only people who get "extra" shields are Warlock Sunsingers - they get a few seconds of "Flame Shield" from their (charged up) melee attack - and Titan Defenders - who have a Super which casts a huge dome shield, but you can't shoot out of that (though you get a couple seconds' extra protection after you leave the dome, too).

Best policy to deal with people with extra shields is using something excessive - a Super, grenade or rocket to the face, etc.

But those aren't exactly super-common anyway.

And yeah, fusion rifles are OP at the moment.

...I'm assuming you're talking PvP here. PvE is different - you need to use damage types that match the enemy shields in that case to bring them down faster.

Yea I'm talking about PVP. I'm getting pissed cause I'm letting loose on people and barely scratching them but I seem to be dead in 3 shots. 1 shot with Fusion... I'm coming in last with only 1 kill and even then I'm only killing if someone else takes people's bar down, or if I can manage a Nova Bomb. I'm just really irked at that. Eventually I just run off cliffs every chance I get to not wind up letting people score easy kills. I just don't understand why I'm not killing like others.

I'm golden in PvE!

I'm just really put off ATM scratching my head.

I'm going to assume you're taking your best weapons into it. XD

What's your connection like? It's entirely possible that you are lagging a bit and so not shooting in the "real" location of the enemy. Also; hitting things in PvP is a bit different to hitting them in PvE, as players move quite differently to enemies. There's also a lot to be said for people working in teams - if you go 2v1, the 1 will almost always lose as the damage ratio is skewed in their favor; try running with someone on your team so that you have the advantage when you encounter enemies. Never stop moving unless you're out of combat and need a second for your shields to recharge (or if you're crouching on an objective to reduce your presence on the motion tracker...).

Auto Rifles are also considerably less effective in PvP than they are in PvE as their range/recoil gets in the way of putting rounds on target; you NEED one with a Fitted Stock upgrade to make it viable (increases the Stability to acceptable levels) and even then, it's primarily a mid-range engagement weapon (there's not a lot of mid-range on most maps - by the time you see people they're getting within Fusion Rifle/Hand Canon range or they're sitting out by Scout Rifle/Sniper Rifle territory - both of those combos will beat an Auto Rifle in most circumstances unless you're pretty good with it).

If you're struggling to get kills, never hesitate to swap weapons for a bit. Sometimes a change of pace is just what you need to get into the flow of things again. Sometimes you swap, get waaaaaaaay worse, and then find yourself better off when you swap back for some inexplicable reason. >.<

Actually, Silencer, the Shingen-C Autorifle is the most OP POS in the game in PVP.

Unlike PvE, PVP damage is normalized, so you are looking at the other stats on your weapon. You mainly want Impact, as that is telling you how much damage each round will do in PVP. After impact you want to put as many bullets on target as fast as possible (so a high fire rate and high stability). It SEEMs like the Gallahad-E should be the beast of an Auto Rifle in PVE, but even though its stability is listed as higher than the Shingen-C, it doesn't seem to work like that.

Now, as for titan defenders, they can use their super on a bubble shield that you cannot shoot in or out of, the shield can do 1 of three things depending on how they are setup. The first is grant anyone on your team an overshield when they pass through it (which might be what you are seeing, and allows videos like this:
), the second is grant anyone on your team who passes through it increased fire rate and damage for a couple seconds, the third is make anyone on your team inside the shield have huge damage reduction.

Titan Defenders ALSO have an ability to get an overshield when they kill someone with a fully charged punch. I don't like this ability much because if you hit someone and it doesn't kill them, it is no longer fully charged unlike most of the other punch abilities I've seen. (Striker Transfusion is the other one that discharges even if you don't get the benefit).

BK - for PVP, here is what you have to do:

1) Have a reasonable connection. If your connection is shitty you need to sprint around the map shotgunning. Trust me on this.
2) Have a good PVP weapon. Shingen-C, or a fast charging fusion rifle, or a high-impact/high-range shotgun.
3) SHOOT PEOPLE IN THEIR HEAD. This is very much a halo game and shooting people in the head takes down shields faster as well as kills faster
4) If you are having problems, follow your team around and help them. You'll start picking up kills and keeping your team alive.
5) SHOOT MORE PEOPLE IN THEIR HEAD.
6) Crouch in a corner with a fusion rifle at 70% charge. You can 'feather' the trigger with a fusion rifle and keep it (so long as you aren't running) almost ready to fire.
7) There is some sort of laggy shit going on in PVP, so if someone ducks around a corner with little health, keep shooting. You'll often end up killing them.

Edit - I'm sorta kinda good at FPS shooters, and I've really had to practice and work at it to even hit a consistent 1.5 KDR. This game FEELS like a mix of Halo and COD, but it doesn't play like it in PVP for some reason.

LOOT CAVE/FARMING CAVE is now gone. Bungie sent out an update to fix it.

I got at least ten levels out of it, so I'm happy.

Yea I'm pretty pissed they removed ascendant shards from the Queens Gear stuff.

I'd saved up 10 of em to run with my normal group tonight and I get nothing for it. The gear isn't as good as what I'm wearing now so I want to DE it so I could get shards to upgrade and hit 28, but apparently that isn't acceptable to Bungie.

Dislike the changes they put in with this patch.
Like the Dev Notes for what they want to change in the future.

I haven't been all that impressed with the ship design in Destiny so far. Some of the different enemy ships look alright, but they don't have enough of a presence for me to really care one way or the other about them. If there were genuine invasions going on and the enemies had a degree of personality I feel like I would be more interested. As for the player ships, I don't feel like they have much personality. I look at, say, the Queen's ship - which looks amazing - and then compare it to every player-operated ship I've seen, and our options are exceptionally bland in comparison. It doesn't help that we can't dye our ships.

When it comes to Halo though, holy shit. Some of the coolest ship design not just in gaming but anywhere. The bulbous fronts of the Covenant ships, especially the assault carriers? Makes me smile just thinking about it. Just look at this thing: http://img3.wikia.no...sa_Glassing.jpg . You're more than welcome to glass New Mombasa, you sexy thing! Whenever I play that level in ODST I usually just sit there for a few minutes to watch it. Can't want to see those in glorious 1080p when the Halo 2 remaster comes out.

Speaking of genuine invasions, something that Halo did well that is completely absent from destiny is you, badass master chief, would see human marines battling and struggling to hold the line in he background or you would come across pockets of resistance. You knew there was a war on. You were not winning it single handedly, you were just the scalpel that made the difference. The tower feels secure, in fact it does not even seem that anyone is attacking the city or even trying.

Apparently Xur has an Exotic Auto Rifle on sale this week. So just the thing to get and use until they nerf em. Then back to your scout and hand cannons!

I'd hold onto any purple engrams you get from here on out until the next major patch. They're going to change it so that all Engrams will change into the same quality or better.
