As to your other question. If you win the hex, the best use of your colony ships would be to flip them over and populate the slots on the hex tiles not use them to gain one resource. On average putting down population cubes on planets nets you ~2 additional resources. The farther down the track you are the more resources you gain. Flipping your colony ships over as your special race ability only nets you 1 resource.
As to this, I thought I could only populate one planet each turn with the influence action?
A restriction of my race.
"With the Influence action may flip one Colony Ship face up"
That would leave me with 2 ships left.
Did I get that wrong too?
Does this only apply to the influence action taken specifically and not any influence gained through combat or exploration?
At the start of every round you have 3 colonly ships available to populate hexes or to flip over for immediate resources. If you choose to use the influence action you can then reuse one colonly ship that you previously used. All other races can reuse 2 colony ships. The influence action is a way for players to use more than the starting number of colony ships available.
Ok, but in real terms if I wanted to I could populate all three planets in this system if I conquer?
Ok. So if I wanted to 'redistribute' any exsisting cubes I would place a disc on the action track and use an influence action. And instead of being able to redistribute 2 cubes I can only do 1. That right?
If you don't use any of your colony ships prior to conquoring the double ancient hex yes you can populate all three planet slots.
If you want to redistribute any exisiting cubes then using the influence action is the way to do it. But the only way to redistribute cubes is if you are taking a population cube off of a grey planet and then placing it back on, or if you want to move money to science or the other way around then you can do the same using orbitals.
Here is an example.
At the start of a fictious round where you have three colony ships.
You do an influence action and remove the influence cube from Gamma Velorum. You place the population cube from the grey planet onto the money track. You then place an influence disk back (You can move up to 2 influence disks per influence action) onto Gamma Velorum and settle the grey planet with a material track flipping over one colony ship to show you used it. Then as the final aspect of the influence action you reflip the just used colony ship face up and you can still use all three colony ships later in the round.
You redistributed your money to materials using the influence action.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Just been looking through the posts appparently I did express a wish to add the fusion source.
I never posted it though. I must have changed my mind. We'll see what CF says.
I'm sure it was him who advised me not to do it.

SS, you do know that the Ancients are ancient? Meaning they're not going to die of old age while you dick around.

I'm not dicking around though. I've posted my provisional.
Sorry if I haven't as much time to play as you guys. Was probably a mistake signing up.

I can see the fusion source on my blueprint too. So what's done is done!

For the most part I haven't had any issue with the amount of time you have devoted to the game. I know that most of the holdups are more because you are still learning the game and not because you are dicking around. If you were an old pro like IH or D'rek then you would be able to decide what you wanted to do quicker. It's a learing curve don't worry about it.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Thanks.
Well my OP is updated. I'm sure it'll be round to me again before too long.
I'll be watching.

Well at least this time we are waiting for the mod and then I'm sure lobster boy will take forever to make his move. At least you have updated the OP unlike a few people.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Hi, will catch up tonight.
I'm away from my office all week, and the offsite location doesn't have a networked PC....so I'll only be able to do board updates in the evening unfortunately.
I see posted his move, and if folks want to put in provisionals then I'll process them when I can.
Apologies in advance for the slow pace this week.

@ Morgoth - yer science be done!
Researched advanced robotics for five sciences and added 1 influence disc to your track.
@D'rek - Beta leonis influenced. Colonized money and material planets.
@SS - Cruiser blueprint not changed (thanks for going back and double checking). 2 Cruisers from home system moved to double ancient hex.
@All
New board going up in a few minutes. I won't get a chance until tomorrow evening, so might as well do it now.
@Tapper

@CF
Seems my interceptor blueprint has had the fusion source fitted. I've obviously forgot to post my desire to change my upgrade (probably after some advice) but did update my OP.
Just leave as is if you want, I'll edit my OP to suit.
It's not the end of the world. My bad.

This is a dig at me, isn't it? Ok, ok, updated.
@SS:
The difference between you and me is that while you take your time over a move because you're seeking to understand how the game works, what the move will be affected by, what your options are afterwards, and what rules will take effect, I take my time because I hope it makes me look like I'm doing all that and considering all my options, when in fact I do nothing but twiddle my thumbs and stare at the gibberish squiggles which are supposedly the rules of the game.
You'll realise this for yourself when you see me make a move such as: "Upgrade dreadnaught by removing improved hull from blank spot, and placing improved hull on other blank spot." You know, the kind of move that makes me look like I'm doing something, when I actually don't know what the hell I'm doing at all.
"I think I've made a terrible error of judgement."

I just assume your moves are specifically fitted into some larger plan designed to sabotage all my plans.
