House rules
  • Reputation tiles are face up (so no unfair advantage to moderator)
  • An image file will be placed here showing all of the hexes in the game, so the mod has no unfair advantage in knowing exactly which ones are left and what they look like.
  • Once enough tiles of a technology have been drawn that everyone in the game could research it, any further tiles drawn of that tech will be discarded and replaced
  • Player first in play order gets to "play first" or "select race first", which determines order of play. If the first person selects "play first" then the last person would get to select race first...and vice versa.
  • Discussion happens in the post as normal, and moves are posted in the thread as normal, but each player must return to the first page and update his placeholder post with a summary of moves and upkeep at the end of a round. See format below.

Rules added along the way.
  • If there is a major screwup by the mod during the course of battle resolution, and it is decided that the screwup significantly affects the battle's outcome, it results in a re-roll of the entire combat.
  • Mulligans of issued actions are allowed up to the point where the next player posts his or her move

Just a couple of things, I am on computer now. First is my money in bank is 7 not 6.

So

7 + 21 = 28 money - 7 upkeep. = 21 income.

0 science + 6 science = 6 science

12 material + 4 = 16

I don't know either, but I finished a tasting menu in a Warshaw restaurant I am so good I just know I could love Morghy in a distinctly non-Platonic fashion if only the hairy Norwegian viking would reprocicate (is that a word?) in kind, if it was not for the fact the alcohol was sponsoring this message. I will be home ansld able to play in three days (3 in numerals).

Tomorrow is a holiday. Today is payday. I might be influenced by all the celebratory beer, but I would certainly be willing to let you carry my child.. in a non platonic way of course.

Feel free to ask questions. Like Morgoth said we are all (mostly) a helpful bunch. Unless there is of course a conflict of interest but then the others will step in and set you straight.

Are you needing assistance in picking your race? I believe that you pick after Tapper, If he hasn't already made his choice. I think I saw that he posted recently. Terrans are recommended as a good choice the first time out of the gate but feel free to read over all the different race breakdowns that D'rek did in the Eclipse two game thread. I think CF has or will have a link to the appropriate info. I think the Magellans would also be a good first race choice too.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

The key is just that if Tapper picks a strong military race (Orion or Mechanema, mostly) and points his hex towards you, then do NOT pick Hydrani, and point your wormholes away from Tapper as much as possible.

If Tapper does not pick a strong military race, you're probably fine to choose whatever.

Lyra might be a bit complicated to play in your first game.

Terrans are *always* a good choice. Magellans are flexible like Terrans too, but a bit more complicated to learn.

I'd say that that is sound advice at any time.
The Lyra look interesting.
And Tapper didn't make a choice so we're still stuck waiting for him to sober up?

I was thinking that the Terrans seem to fit my usual 'default human male warrior/tank' RPG profile.

That is entirely up to you both literally and figuratively.

:(

If you do pick Terrans you can look over the other races that are tied to the various terran factions if there is one that you absolutely don't want to have to face to take that choice off the board. Or if you don't care you could pick the terran faction tied to the douchebag or pony boy magellan race to leave the most options open for everyone else.

But you do still have to wait until Tapper makes his choice too. I think he is sleeping it off right about now.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
