D'rek has a provisional in. So now we're waiting on SS?

yes.
I don't see a provisional for him.
@Solid,
Have a look at my post from a little ways back if you're having a hard time making up your mind. I think the double ancient goal is a pretty good one this turn. Maybe you have other galactic domination plans, but if not, it seems a likely next step for someone in your position.

I'm still trying to figure out my chances of battling those ancients and how many ships I can move without bankrupting myself.
Got me 2 more actions plus a pulsar.

Yup. I get it. I'd rather take my chances with 2 cruisers and an interceptor though. Less fucking on with upgrades. I can use one action and my pulsar to get the ships there and then an upgrade action.
Still got pretty good chances.
I have to sleep though, just done a 14hr nightshift and then the school run.
I'll be a few hours.

So if I make a move action, I can move three ships right? Each ship can move the amount on the drive icon on the blueprint. In the case of my cruisers and interceptors, 1 space each.
Is that right?
So if I make one move action, I can move both my cruisers into the ancient hex, and my interceptor into my home system?
Correct?
If so, then that's my provisional.

2 ships per turn you can move mate. The number of spaces you can move per ship depends on your drive on that ship.
edit. so that is one ship two hexes, or two ships one hex.

Yeah you aren't the terrans so you can only make two moves per turn.

My next move would be to upgrade the plasma cannon on the cruiser for the ion cannon and add an extra hull. Then one pulsar move to bring my interceptor in. That should be it.

Plus the pulsar is a reaction move so you could only get your interceptor into the homeworld hex not the double ancient tile.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I didn't see that listed on the front page as a disadvantage. I thought it unlikely that I knew what I was doing.

Yeah I know, that was based on the assumption I'd already moved it one hex in the previous move.
I don't just want to do the moves that I've been told to do either, it could take the fun out the game, and potentially rob me of any glory, however unlikely (extremely unlikely). I do actually get it. I just thought i could move three ships.
I've only now found the part in the expansion rules with my race in.
Seen this too
"At any time, may flip unused Colony Ships and receive one free Resource per Colony Ship"
I know I've probably asked this question before, but if I've got 2 colony ship cards left at the end of the round (which I will if I successfully win this hex) can I flip both of them?
So first provisional remains pretty much the same.
MOVE both cruisers into the ancient hex tile.

So are you upgrading your cruiser for your second action or are you moving both of your cruisers as your second action?
As to your other question. If you win the hex, the best use of your colony ships would be to flip them over and populate the slots on the hex tiles not use them to gain one resource. On average putting down population cubes on planets nets you ~2 additional resources. The farther down the track you are the more resources you gain. Flipping your colony ships over as your special race ability only nets you 1 resource.

@CF
Btw, round 1 turn 6, I upgraded another hull on my cruiser. It's not there though.
I'd forgot about that as well, now I only need another move for my interceptor and an upgrade from my pulsar for the plasma cannon.
I was worried that I would have to take an extra turn to upgrade the hull too, but apparently I've done it already!!!
So the simulation of 1 interceptor with extra hull and 2 cruisers with extars hulls and plasma versus 2 ancient yields about 80-85% success rate. Can somebody check and see if I'm doing it right?

As to this, I thought I could only populate one planet each turn with the influence action?
A restriction of my race.
"With the Influence action may flip one Colony Ship face up"
That would leave me with 2 ships left.
Did I get that wrong too?
Does this only apply to the influence action taken specifically and not any influence gained through combat or exploration?

At the start of every round you have 3 colonly ships available to populate hexes or to flip over for immediate resources. If you choose to use the influence action you can then reuse one colonly ship that you previously used. All other races can reuse 2 colony ships. The influence action is a way for players to use more than the starting number of colony ships available.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Ok, but in real terms if I wanted to I could populate all three planets in this system if I conquer?
Ok. So if I wanted to 'redistribute' any exsisting cubes I would place a disc on the action track and use an influence action. And instead of being able to redistribute 2 cubes I can only do 1. That right?

I was panicking because I need 2 hulls on my cruiser to have a real chance but that would require another turn.
As it happens I'd already done it. So this round should be ok upkeep wise. Should be -7 with 8 coming in.

I thought you upgraded your power source on your interceptor way back when instead of upgrading your cruiser with an additional hull.
