Interesting that Ahsoka and Sabine's relationship seems to be being portrayed as having been difficult or even contentious? Is it not possible that Sabine could call her Master even if Ahsoka was only training her in lightsaber combat? Either way, as far as we know, Ahsoka has never taken on an apprentice before. She could've found it as difficult as Kanan did at times, especially with a Mandalorian padawan.

Indeed, and Filoni is on record as having Ahsoka spending time in this series reckoning with the fact that when she walked away from the Jedi and Anakin, she was walking away from those teachings...but while that may have been the best choice in the moment...that the Jedi are not just what she saw in them in the prequels when she walked away....that there is more there, if she's willing to see it, and that may be why she was not the best Master and Sabine (who was always SUPER headstrong) was not a great student. The baggage from both would be immense. And this further explains why Ahsoka refuses to train Grogu and fobs him off onto Luke instead.

I feel like this series is setting up Ahsoka training a new type of Jedi in this new unrealized part of space in ways that avoid the pitfalls of her predecessors....but first she has to come to terms with what that will make her and her students.

At any rate, like you Ahsoka is my fave Star Wars character (aside from Obi-Wan), so I have high hopes that it will be done right.

Thirded on all points.

It's easy to fold Ahsoka into the REBELS cast but she was a late arrival and never part of the core crew. Sabine, especially end of series semi-mature Darksaber carrying lost people she cared about has led Mandalorians into battle Sabine, would NOT easily slide into an apprentice role, even if they both thought the formality for training was a good idea.

I'm excited about the series. It's not one i thought we would ever see, in a format i expected even less.

That was so good! Sabine and Hera look great! Elon Musk playing Thrawn is a weird choice though...

Do we know who the actor is yet? A quick search didn't turn up anything confirmed.

Also, it definitely looks like a big part of this show will be the hunt for Ezra.

I certainly hope there's going to be a place for Ezra in all this, once we get him back. They took steps to make him a very important force user before he departed...

I'm wishing for a spectacular series as well.

It is Lars Mikkelsen, who voiced Thrawn for Rebels.

Mads brother! And yeah, I dunno why putting him in blue makeup made him look like Elon in that shot. LOL

We know Hayden is going to be in the AHSOKA series in some way....

Can I just say I hope that we have a shot of Ahsoka doing something quietly, or struggling in some way and the camera is on her face and we hear "Hey Snips..." and she turns to see Anakin's force ghost....I will fall apart emotionally if something like that happens.

The first two Eps of AHSOKA were excellent! Lots of storybulding in the first ep, and then the second is off like a shot.

spoilerific detailed thoughts

I'm just going to say it....this feels more like the Sequel to the OT than the ACTUAL sequels do. This takes things we know and expands them into new pathways and ideas and doesn't retread ANYTHING...and is not just a rehash of the OT. HEIR TO THE EMPIRE baby!

Totally agree on almost every point. I wasn't totally sold until the final 10 minutes of Ep 2 but that sealed the deal for me, I'm in.

Ahsoka isn't in Mando S3, so you're good. (EDIT: and the story doesn't touch on anything Mando either)

Required watching would be THE CLONE WARS and REBELS, and S2 of Mando.

Seen S2 of Mando and like 1 season of TCW so I know a bit about her. Think I'll watch without adding anything else.

Found the first two episodes to be excellent entries into the star wars universe.

Which I hoped but it still kind of amazes me since this is basically the live-action Rebels Season 5.

So, I saw someone reference the "only a Sith deals in absolutes" quote the other day, and I thought: "Is that ironic because it's an absolute statement?"

We can only hope I'd love to see what Filoni could do on the big screeen.

Not that he seems to need a bigger budget, he does amazing star wars with Ahsoka.
