Rewatched rise if sky walker. I remember watching it in cinema and being entertained enough at least to enjoy it but think once the movie was over that it was riddled with plot holes and absurdities.

In the rewatch, knowing what would happen it was just boring. Sequel trilogy really is a disaster

I like portions of TFA and TROS. Not the entire movies themselves mind you...but parts of them. I really love the Bendemption scenes in TROS for example but I think Rey should have stayed dead and Ben should have gone off at the end to a life of paying for his transgressions with good deeds ect.

TLJ is still a complete write-off for me.

ROGUE ONE is the best. Disney era movie they've done by a country mile, and MANDO is even better than that. I'm glad they realized that MANDO is the way forward now.

And the push for the High Republic Era (200 years before TPM) really settles the notion that Disney can have a Star Wars era all their own to play in and do whatever they want.

I'll wager the ST will be dust in Disney's Rearview going forward.

I mean look at the Sequels VS Mando

Spoiler

I think that speaks volumes about the sequels.

I think its telling that out of all the SW content out there, I never feel the desire to rewatch any of the ST.

And yes, they handled Mando so well

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Okay Star Wars nerds, I need a refresher. So, I saw this bumper sticker on a car the other day:

I was trying to remember what the First Order is. Is that the deal (pogrom) from the middle movies, the ones in late 90s/early aughts, where an academy of young Jedis in training (are they called padewans?), were wiped out due to mitachorine (sp?) in their blood or something? Because it meant they were Jedi order (or had the potential due to mitachitrines, sp?) and would eventually mean future hassle/resistance to the Empire?

Nah, First Order is the post-Empire autocracy that Snoke rules in the newest trilogy.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Ah, okay. It's coming back now. Han Solo's son is a member of the New Order, iirc, right?

Wasn't there something about the killing of the kids though in the middle movies (theatrical release wise, not story timeline). Was that an edict come down from high? Or was that just future Darth Vader going mass killer, momentary insanity?

Also, as an aside, in finding that image there's a lot of funny "doesn't care about your stick figure family" bumper stickers. There's a Doctor Who one that is perfect, starring the Daleks - "Exterminate Stick Figure Family!"

Oh yah, you're definitely right about that. I may be off on some details or timing, but Palpatine had this thing implanted in all Clones where he could make them switch sides in an instant, and he pulled that in the third prequel movie -- and I think simultaneously with that, Anakin himself kills the Jedi younglings at the Emperor's bidding, after joining the dark side. It's all part of a Jedi purge.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Finally got around to watching Rise of Skywalker.

I was not bored. I spent no time thinking about the plot because there was barely any. The horses did not trouble me.

It is not the worst big budget movie.

It is the worst Star Wars movie.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I think TPM and TLJ are worse.

Too late!

Just kidding.

Are we doing rankings?

Okay, here's my best to worst Star Wars movies.

RETURN OF THE JEDI
REVENGE OF THE SITH
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
ROGUE ONE
A NEW HOPE
SOLO
THE PHANTOM MENACE
ATTACK OF THE CLONES
THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
THE FORCE AWAKENS
TLJ

And if you include TV shows, then TCW and MANDO fit cleanly in between ANH and SOLO on the list in that order.

Disney is going to put out the Ewok (there was more than one?) series, which I guess are supposed to be terrible.

And Disney is also going to put out the legendary Star Wars Holiday Special. Is it true George Lucas says it's his biggest regret and at one time said if he could he would find all copies of it and destroy them?

Looooved the Ewok movies as a kid. Can’t wait to watch them again and see how bad the really are. But the nostalgia will be nice

I'll watch them for shits and giggles. Is that little fuzzy star of Return of the Jedi in them?
