Why would that be a good option? There were no teams on Day 1, so no one was communicating or symping as far as we know. Those who didn't vote Eloth didn't do so because they didn't like the case, didn't vote at all, and/or weren't around to change their votes to get a lynch. I don't understand what the point of holding back on a Day 1 lynch would be unless you were reasonably sure the person who was about to get lynched was a townie.

New players don't understand the benifit of analyzing lynch trains

But seeing as we already had one townie death we can analyse to our heart's content, I didn't really see the urgent need for another one in this particular situation. So, pray tell, why can't you do all that anyway without getting the lynch? For example, just like you mention, at one point people were piling on in quick succession - I would wager among that group were opportunist CLs/the Bat. Have a look at that.

Well, I'm sure that Eloth isn't scum because in this game, technically, there is no scum. Or we're all scum, take your pick If you desire a serious answer, then I have no idea about Eloth, but I found the case on him to be unconvincing and preferred other targets, such as Atrahal, D'riss, and Anomandaris (and for a while Ampelas).

You can still analyse possible reasons for a vig on Shelly. You seem to be stuck in this train mentality when the truth is: Trains tell you far less than you think they do. You'll get most of your info from the rest of the content across the day.

I really hope you're not judging a drop in the standard of play based on the fact that there wasn't a lynch. If anything, you should be judging it on the fact that no case was good enough to convince just over 50% of voters.
