Our grill's coal rack is rusted through. Damn the timing. I feel unAmerican without a burger today.
Unamerican without a Hamburger, a Frankfurter, and a Berliner...? Or maybe chargrilling them is like a reenactment of WWII....
So what if you wanted foods that are uniquely US o An... rather than German? (Especially when Trump's going on about the Nazis at length.)
- Corn dog. Probably too sophisticated for most US grillers to produce---at least without the aid of a microwave. Maybe too much German influence.
- Saltwater taffy.
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
- Cobb salad.
- Cheese steak with extra grease and cheese whiz.
- Deep-fried twinkies.
- Fajitas.
- Buffalo wings.
- S'mores.

'Watch Trump bizarrely claim the army retook the airports from the British during Revolutionary war'
Lol, what an idiot. Maybe the drizzle was making it hard to read the teleprompter? 'The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis at Yorktown. Our army manned the air [mumble---ports? was he realizing how stupid that sounded?], it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports [but there he definitely says it], it did everything it hadda do, and at Fort... McHenry, under the rocket's red glare had nothing but victory.'

It seems like he realized he was making a mistake the first time he said it, then thought to himself, 'My followers are so stupid and/or out of touch with reality I can say anything'.....

Okay why is it such a bad thing for the census to ask people if they are citizens?
Surely the USA should know what percentage of the people living it are citizens or how many citizens they have? Although as I write this, surely they do know this information from something? Social security?
Lastly do illegal immigrants really full out the census forms? Surely thats dangerous even without a citizen question?

For one thing, it's an irrelevant question. The point of the census is to make an accurate count of every individual in the United States, regardless of things like status, and representation is apportioned from that. Representation doesn't belong to citizens alone. If anyone has a problem with that, they have a problem with the Constitution. For another thing, given its purpose, the Census Bureau is non-partisan, and this clearly injects politics into its mission. The Census Bureau is well aware of its own mission, as mandated by the Constitution, and Wilbur Ross unilaterally overruled them.
Why did he do that? Because the citizenship question is meant -- and I mean this quite explicitly -- to intimidate non-citizens (and their citizen relatives) from participating in the census, thus causing an undercount in "bluer" areas. Individuals don't fill out the census, households do, and if millions of households undercount their #s -- for whatever reason -- you can surely see how this does not ascertain an accurate count of every individual in the United States. This jeopardizes things like federal funding and skews decision-making across the public sphere. So the question isn't just bad, isn't just irrelevant to the mission of the Census Bureau, it literally breaks the census. Which, again, is its purpose.

'Kenneth Prewitt, a professor at Columbia University and a former Census Bureau director, told me that high-quality citizenship data is available from other census surveys and administrative records. Indeed, there already is a citizenship question on a separate, longer Census Bureau survey that is sent to a small share of households on a monthly basis. “Adding this question to the decennial census is not necessary,” Prewitt said.'

It’s not a bad thing. The same question is on a job applications or other official documents.
I guess you know if you don't actually pay attention to what the Constitution mandates then sure it isn't a bad thing. Luckily the Constitution actually says
Article 1, Section 2
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.
Feel free to note that there is nothing there about citizenship. Instead it is free persons.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

A law that counts enslaved back people as 3/5ths of a person is perhaps outdated?

That was amended a long time ago. The Constitution has a special status in US law; it takes precedence over all other laws, and can only be amended by a 2/3rds majority of both the House and Senate, or by a 2/3rds majority of states in a constitutional convention.
One could reasonably argue that congressional apportionment (for seats in the House of Representatives) should only be based on current citizens, or on people eligible to vote. But the system of giving two senators to each state, when state lines are in retrospect excessively arbitrary and too far out of proportion with population (without being reasonably justifiable in terms of regional differences), is currently completely fucked up, and a much more pressing issue.

It's definitely true that rich and powerful men like Donald Trump and Bill Clinton are Epstein clients ("allegedly" with the scariest possible scare quotes), and aren't just rapists but very likely child rapists, and that they've used their wealth and power to escape consequences (as has Epstein, historically). But other prominent clients like Alan Dershowitz, Prince Andrew, et al aren't politicians, they're just other rich and powerful men. In other words, 'politician' is just one of the small circles encompassed by that bigger one. I do hope this case does rip through anywhere and everywhere it can.
Relevant to the above:
But like, that just speaks to the mundanity of this evil. The absolute unsurprisingness of it. Any system that puts a certain class of people out of the reach of consequences breeds these results. Far more people of this class, including politicians, are getting away with financial crimes (that have horrifying downstream effects) than sex crimes, of course. And criminality is at least as prominent in this class as any other. But this doesn't require a conspiracy in any useful definition of that term -- certainly nothing of the ZeroHedge/pizzagate/Qanon variety -- any more than a king being able to hunt in a forest that a peasant would be hanged for hunting in requires a conspiracy. Power insulates the powerful from accountability even as it allows them to inflict their power on the people below them. Tale as old as time. These sex fiends are one of the ugliest possible iterations of that, but it's still part of the same conflict we've been talking about.
