I'd say 70.

Someone just shot Charlie Kirk at an event in Utah. Hard to tell but it looked like a headshot.

I wonder - if he survives - if this may shift his views on gun control. Just a smidgen.

He has (had?) no moral compass and would not care. He would simply use it to step up the right wing ladder. If you've seen the video, though -- which I don't recommend, as it is worse than you might think -- it seems unlikely he will get that opportunity.

I mean, according to the renowned right-wing scholar and political commentator, Mr. Charlie Kirk, a few gun deaths every year is worth it for America to keep the right to bear arms. Therefore we must conclude that the victim of this shooting, a Mr. Charlie Kirk, is just collateral damage on the altar of the 2nd amendment, and that the renowned scholar, Mr. Charlie Kirk, would be okay with this.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Didn't he say himself that people dying was an acceptable price to pay for the freedom to have guns? I'm sure that'll be a great comfort to his family.

Wonder how long it took Maga to start baselessly blaming it on an imaginary trans Muslim immigrant "Demon-rat"?... (Trump administration was already trying to ban trans people from having guns on the pretext of claiming that they're "mentally ill"... though if they get away with that perhaps they'll try declaring leftists "mentally ill" next... and then moderate Democrats and Never Trump Republicans too. Because anyone who isn't one of Trump's loyal lackeys must be insane...)

The next few hours/days are already written. The extreme right maga crowd will go on the news and speak out of both sides of their mouths lambasting us all for this unamerican <deport everyone> and unacceptable <fuck the left> extremism {we need to crack down on civil unrest with the guard} that is pervading politics [gerrymander everything]. All while pretending butter won’t melt in their mouths.

Kirk didn’t deserve to be shot but his whole stick is rage baiting the leftist, liberal, woke college elite who he drips with disdain for.

I wonder if the shooter was left or right wing?
I've read around the traps there's a few right wingers who aren't happy with Trump's restricting of freedoms in the name of protecting freedom ...
I mean, isn't that what they claim the 2nd amendment is for? Defending freedom against Govt overreach?

The trouble with almost anyone being able to get their hands on a high-powered weapon (especially those designed to kill lots of people in a short space of time) is that almost anyone can get their hands on a high-powered weapon (especially those designed to kill lots of people in a short space of time).

Sad about Kirk./rip

The funniest thing about all this is 99% percent of the left thinks they know what the American right wing really looks like. I pray they never find out as this may just have them come out of the woodwork. Hint: They are much much worse than the left believe. I'm left of center compared to these peeps !

Good luck all.

Wondering if or when there's going to be a retaliation against a more liberal commentator? I do not see this getting any better any time soon.

Kirk didn't deserve to die, he at least was one of the more interesting and polite ones. But I can't say I'm overly surprised.

Who would have thought a lack of regulation on guns would make it easy to shoot someone?

Don’t worry the wonderful things about guns and civil wars is they don’t separate the wheat from the chaff, just the lucky from the unlucky.

Better keep an eye on Russia/China taking advantage in any fallout from this.

Killer still on the loose. Something like this was easy to see coming when so many lefties have been calling for arming up but to choose a guy who might not say something you agree with that let’s you say your piece in a true back and forth debate seems weird.

I ll be extremely surprised if this turns out to be a righty.

People forget hate has very real consequences. This one really hurt some as they felt he was a everyday American trying to live life.

"interesting and polite" is certainly a choice. He was awful and I'm not going to sugar coat it. It is tricky sad that gun violence continues to read its ugly head, and indeed there was apparently another school shooting in Colorado today but no one will be talking about that.

Also it doesn't matter who's my done it, the government and the media will(and already are) claim that it's "the left" who have done this and use it as an excuse for hunting down political opposition.

Tin foil hat time, part of me wonders if Kirk is a martyr for the cause, because he's a useful person to have die in this way. If they are going to use it to crack down on opposition, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was his own side that ordered the hit.

I've no evidence at all for this of course but it's a thought I had.
