Well, he made a Trump Donation in 2020.

Trump will just use an executive order to declare he was a democratic leftist.

On a more serious note, yes he was assisted, yes he was a public figure. However flying the flags at half mast? He is not a politician, I don’t believe he served.

"To my friend Charlie Kirk. Rest now brother. We have the watch and I'll see you in Valhalla," Kash Patel said. This quote fascinated me because it is also filled with self aggrandizement, it honors Kirk in a way I’m not convinced he deserves and it possibly shows a problematic personal bent/bias by the man whose agency is gathering the evidence? I mean they are friends that is a fact that I don’t expect Patel to deny but is this normal language?

I don’t know if this is a post assassination lionization or if I underestimated a Kirk’s influence. I always saw his as a b grade maga influencer on the level of Ben Shapiro or Candace Owens. Household names with a following but not necessarily such a huge deal. Not a Tucker, hannity or the supplement guy (I’m blanking right now but he is huge).

The level of lionization and praise for Kirk is pretty wild. I suspect it's just zeitgeist/socmed reaction right now and won't last much past the funeral, but wow!

Also drawing attention far off in the distance, a transgender writer whose DC comic issue 1 had just been released was fired and the run cancelled because they made a social media along the lines of 'hope the bullet is ok'.

Social media is a cancer and it has metabolized to every part of the body politic.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

You shouldn’t be surprised. Modern conservatism is the party of white grievance and outrage. Who can we hate today? What are we angry about today?
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I think you're right -- though to the question earlier of whether Kirk was on the same level as all the other far right talking heads, it's essentially true that he started that way and as a minor media figure was in that group. But he's the one person among them who actually built an organization that gets conservative male Gen Z kids to vote, so he was valuable to the conservative project in a way the others aren't, at least as individuals. They all contribute to the ambiance, and are all replaceable, but he was specifically useful.
That doesn't mean the big dog isn't already kinda over it though:

It's fascism and the key tenet of fascism is that it needs an "other"...the hate is the point. If they don't have an "other" it falls apart as an ideology as there is nothing else to it. They know this, so there is always an "other" ....in the 1920's the "others" were Irish and Italian immigrants....these days it's LGBTQ people..But it's entropic....when those others cease to be, or they remove themselves from the conservative environment...that fascism will turn inwards and eat its own in purity tests...

Like look a that one place in the US that's a whites only community....let that exist for a few years and WATCH it eat itself when they can't blame their problems own immigrants or gay people...

Quote

"Hey fascist! Catch! ⬆️, ➡️, ⬇️⬇️⬇️," [...] a reference to the satirically fascist video game Helldivers 2, the arrow combination triggering the most powerful bomb attack in the game. [...] Two law enforcement sources told CNN they initially believed the Helldivers reference was "a connection to the transgender community."

[...] the conflicting tone of the bullet casings' inscriptions may also point to a connection with the Com network and the 764 terror cell offshoot. We've covered these groups several times on Panic World. They primarily exist inside of Discord and Telegram group chats. They recruit vulnerable young people around the internet, including inside of multiplayer games like Minecraft and Roblox. They encourage their members to commit horrible crimes with the promise of internet clout, intentionally using conflicting political messages to obscure any larger motive besides inspiring other members of the group to do the same. A month after a school shooter made an "OK" hand sign post, mentioned above, another teenager in Nashville made the exact same joke before allegedly shooting classmates at their high school. ProPublica found they crossed paths several times in these online communities, and the Nashville shooter was making a deliberate reference to his fellow community member. Which is what is so existentially terrifying about our current political moment.

We have let school shootings in America persist long enough that we have created a culture where kids grow up seeing them as a path towards fame and glory.

Charlie Kirk was killed by a meme - Garbage Day

"Notices bulge OwO whats this?" was apparently a reference to a furry meme, though I'd suppose it could be interpreted as trans-joke adjacent. Still, the law enforcement officers who claimed that what seemed like random arrows and that "notices bulge" joke were evidence of "trans ideology" and leaked that to the WSJ are clearly terrible right-wing bigots trying to foment hatred (and violence, explicitly state sanctioned or otherwise) against trans people and allies. The WSJ retracted their earlier claim and hopefully received a substantial blow to their reputation for reliably reporting facts---at least when it comes to politically charged subjects.

The reactions and the changeover of who Kirk was is all class based solidarity. A wealthy predominantly white and white wanna bes of wealthy white wanna bes does not want anyone to be able to touch them with violence or fatal violence. This is a one way street only in their minds and you see it in Nicodimas's earlier post here.

Removing the mass capability to shoot people is too difficult to do because it's removing something too many people have based their identity and in particular class identity on. Gun control is sorely needed and I find myself thinking this is bizarre when a scared right wing person tells me the right as a whole is now scared - they've been scared this whole time. White replacement, going after immigrants, brutalizing people, oppressing women and LGBRQIA+, and more doesn't come from a place of happy security.

Happy people share and build. Unhappy people take away things and ruin.

It's really that simple.

For sure. We can mention that the same billionaires who flood our politics with dark money (largely in favor of the GOP) own all our major newspapers and other media. They're installing Bari Weiss to de-fang CBS News, as minimally fanged as it already was. The same publications doing Kirk hagiographies today were doing the same for Richard Spencer and other well-dressed Nazi's just a few years ago. They made Kyle Rittenhouse an avatar -- which is appropriate because he's both a tough-talking gun-toting murderer and a sniveling chickenshit. This stuff isn't complex like rocket science, but it is complicated because it's so entrenched and asymmetrically powerful.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

From the article:

Quote

According to [Republican] Utah Governor Spencer Cox, Tyler had reportedly "become more political in recent years."

"The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10, and in the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that he had," Cox said.

If Robinson had become "more political" and crossed over to the left, or had been critiquing KKKirk from the left... then Cox almost certainly would have mentioned that. Granted, he had been a moderate Republican, but he went MAGA in 2024:

https://www.axios.co...ump-endorsement

Quote

"I wish we could blame this on muslims or migrants, but turns out it was one of us." what a wild thing to say

The Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, just said, "For the last 33 hours, I had been praying that this person (who murdered Charlie Kirk) was from another country. That he was not one of us because we are not like that. But it was one of us."

[with video]

https://x.com/Gozuka...548890674467200

Well so much for the power of prayer...

To be fair, the actual quote from the included video is slightly longer:

Quote

"For 33 hours I was praying that if this had to happen here, that it wouldn't be one of us, that someone drove from another state, someone came from another country.

Sadly that prayer was not answered in the way I hoped for just because I thought it would make it easier on us if we could just say, "hey, we don't do that here".

Hey, we don't do that here! Cut that out!... no, not with a knife... not the eyes!...

Yet it's amazing how none of it is anywhere near as bad as invading the fucking Capitol building.
And what happened to those traitors and insurrectionists once the orange turd got in? Free to go, thank you for your service. :p

I saw something about a woman at a printing firm refusing to print flyers about a CK vigil because it was propaganda and so she got cancelled and fired. Isn't it the same as a bakery refusing to make a wedding cake for a gay couple because religion? Ie we reserve the right to refuse service etc, something something beliefs?

Interesting. Nice to see the authorities using it to continue the purges.

EDIT: actually, maybe someone could see if 4chan and Anonymous could do some digging and expose everyone who celebrated or posted nasty stuff about Melissa Holtman and her husband, or Nancy Pelosi and her husband who was attacked with a hammer? Go back even further and find stuff regarding Gabrielle Giffords. I'm sure there's gold somewhere in Laura Loomer's past posts. Call it OP GLASS HOUSES. :p

What does SCOTUS say about protected speech? Or is that just protected from state retribution? I'm not American so the fine details escape me.

Yeah the First Amendment only applies to restrictions by the state.
