Pretty good cover... i love how much energy they have and the instrumentals are dope.

Only thing im somewhat unsure about are the vocalist, not sure its working.... like if i was to contrast covers...

https://youtu.be/XtAjJ2cnF2w

Much brighter vocals which fills the room more, whereas the other one the more darker vocal style kinda subtracts her from the sound. Still good technique though shes not gona hurt her voice doing that which is good. Just not sure it works for this song.

Yeah, the Maki version is great, too. For me, that particular NEMOPHILA version is all about Tam's drumming - she steals the show. I think mayu had the extra level of difficulty of singing it in English on that video, which must be problematic for someone who doesn't speak the language at all. During today's live stream, though, she sang it in Japanese and it was phenomenal.

That makes sense... english is kinda awful for singning. You need to do a fair bit of vowel modification in order to get a forward sound so if you're new to the language you're putting to much emphasis on how much you are supposes to speak, versus how you are supposed to sing it.

Its low key why misheard lyric videos are so common in english, vowel modifcation for the purposes of singning.

Yes, all very true. Many people think that Lovebites' vocalist asami is singing in Japanese when, in fact, all of their songs bar one are in English. Band-Maid and many others throw a lot of English lines into their songs but they're sometimes difficult to pick up for the reasons you mention. NEMOPHILA are trying hard to accommodate English speakers, I think, as they gain more and more momentum overseas. In some ways I think they're making a rod for their own back, as they are an independent band and have no label support, and it seems to have been particularly wearing for Saki, who's the band 'president' and only one who speaks any English at all. Personally I wouldn't mind if they stuck to Japanese.

Haha, yeah I shared that over in the main Music thread the other day. The whole stream was hilarious. Miku and Kanami were astonished by the number of countries represented by fans in the chat. They chatted for about 90 minutes before they did this. At the start, Herman said he was never going to wear a dress again, and then this LOL.

He also wore one on stage with Lovebites on their UK tour in 2019 LOL.

Don't know anything about Iced Earth. I may have heard something by them at some point or another, not sure. Didn't the singer join Judas Priest as a replacement for Rob Halford at one point?

Anyway, the band member who participated in the attack on Jan. 6 has pleaded guilty. The first to do so. I hope the judge throws the book at him. Let the rest of them know who are yet to be processed or have yet to be caught know what is awaiting them.

Hmm I really liked one album they did a while ago, it finished with a three part track which was pretty cool but I never got into any of their other stuff.

Just listened to that track (or rather, three tracks...) for the first time in years and man it's actually pretty good. Jon Schaeffer is a good riff guitarist and Matt Barlowe (, the guy who is the one who joined Judas Priest iirc) has great prog-power vocals. I did like that particular album but Iced Earth overall were never among my favourites.

My current new favourite band, fusing progressive/atmospheric/symphonic elements with pretty brutal death/deathcore heaviness. Really dig this sound!

So brutal that they broke their own video, apparently....
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
