What month would Hood be?
Which Hood are we talking about here? Would he have to be desiccated? I have a really hard time thinking up ways of making this sexy in any serious way

point very well taken. Hoods the winter month posterboy, thats december in the north and june in the south. I picture him on an ice throne, kinda counter balancing the laseen pic.

I think a dessicated hood would look pretty gruesome... Not sure how to dodge that honestly. In my mind hoods alway been skin and bones...but hypothetically he was alive once.

well you have to remember, ganoes paran has some gnarly beak scars on one side of his face, that he got from a condor in MoI. that could be a very distinctive feature to capture.

also setting, paran can go ANYWHERE. A background thats plain impossible would suit him ie. under the sea or walking in the sky etc.

Yes, me too, unfortunately. But if he's on the ice throne he would still be alive, correct? Or you know, before his soul left, if that's what it did.

Now see this is excellent (especially having him reading Gothos Folly, the airport thriller edition) but it's also exactly my point, when I try to merge Hood with 'sexy' everything my mind generates is ridiculous

Yes he would still be alive on his throne, he probably didn't decay all that much when you think about it.

A ) a highly preserved dark green emmaciated Jaghut with leathers and regalia on a throne or

So... this is not rattle-of-bones-Hood. I could still try for that but I have a feeling it wouldn't end well.

Other than that, is there something terribly off that I should deal with before starting on the details?

I also have a general concern. I'm photophobic so I tend to dim the monitor as far down as it goes and consequently things I draw will end up too bright when I turn up the light. In my experience, most people have their monitor pretty bright and so, starting this, I decided to work with the light up so I could be more in control. Now I discover I've compensated by making everything pretty dark, so much that I have to have the light nearly on max for it to be way I intended. Is it too dark?

If you're looking to add some light, it would be sweet if the throne glowed pale blue

I agree with ST. Glowing blue from the throne would be cool. See arthurs throne as the lich ling. Infact just google lich king for cool ideas. I'm thinking you should have skulls or something on the arm rests aswell...

I have a few friends who are photophobic, it causes havoc for their design presentations. If you have photo shop play around with the adjustments tool. Take a picture with a colour scheme similar to yours that has good contrasts and see if you can match the mid tones and highlights. After that you can also darken your shadows for effect with your opaque brush set to multiply. (if its too bright for your liking)

that said I really like what you've done so far Is... Perhaps you may want to make him seem taller with slightly less human arm joints. Is it intentional that he has no hair?

I think I found the Lich King throne, is it the one with pointy things going up? I realize that was not a great description but it wont let me link.
Found some pretty cool actual ice thrones earlier but most of them are too elaborate. I tend to think that Hood would have a more crude style. Skulls would be appropriate
