I seem to recall a connection between Jorrick Sharplance and Humble Measure, mentioned in TTH. Something about Sharplance freeing a Malazan occupied town that Humble Measure was captive in? I think.

It's about halfway through Chapter 3 in TtH. The Malazans attacked One Eye Cat when HM was 8 years old, killing his family (HM's father opened the gates for them.) Jorrick and "a mercenary company allied with the city" rescued HM and some other prisoners, then released them on the south side of Old King Lake.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Ilgres Clan are never said to be part of the White Face, which I do recall from my pre-TCG reread. Not exactly proof, but they are shown to be parallel and not sub-clan here: http://malazan.wikia.com/wiki/Barghast
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yeah, Ilgres and White Face are two separate clans. The glossary for MoI says the White Face includes the Senan, Gilk, Ahkrata, Barahn, and Nith'rithal clans.

Well this is hugely disappointing.

"Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:
Ian Cameron Esslemont "Orb Sceptre Throne (Malazan Empire 4)"
Estimated arrival date: January 20 2012 - January 25 2012"

Just got the same email come through except mine says 17-19th. Amazon aren't very accurate with some their dates - I think they chuck in a general idea of the time then modify as needed.

Curses!

To complicate matters, .uk is showing dec 8 2011 for the tpb and jan 12 2012 for the hb. They probably just haven't updated the tpb listing yet.

It would be awesome in some respects but I think this forum would actually go in to meltdown if another character came back to life!

Yup, the date is also pushed back on thebookdepository.com. Both tpb and hb on January 12th 2012.

I was just looking forward to such a nice Christmas present, a well, you can't have it all.

Would that not be Hedge?

Considering certain events in TCG, i doubt it.

I think this falls in with 'There are no Hounds of Light'.

I meant post-MT. Where is this resurrection quote coming from?

I think around the time of TBH was released Erikson said there was 'one big resurection left' though you could really take your pick. Hedge, Brys etc. He probably meant the one at the end of TCG.

Double post but its relevant to the Tyrant plotline

Crokus's parents apparently died of the Blue tongue plague or whatever it said in GOTM with Mammot his only Uncle. WE find out in TBH that Mammot isnt his uncle and is infact an entity relevant to the Tyant plot line as the Torrud Cabal. On p.497 of TBH Crokus notes he has no brothers sisters or even cousins. What im getting at is Crokus may be a long lost foundling of a Tyrant or whatever, it plausible enough if not a little cliched in fantasy.

Anyway just getting these things down as I read them

Question to the mods and assorted other higher ups (e.g., Hetan, Mal, ....):

Will there be a prologue released here soon? First chapter? Etc?

All right, checked with my bookstore here in Ohio (US) and after explaining I wanted to preorder Orb, Sceptre, Throne and not Warp Speed Seven, I found out the following:

Publishing date for OST in the US is February 28. There is no street date. Apparently, there are two types of dates in the publishing world: Publishing and Street. The main difference is that Street date is a guarantee that books will be available for that date. Publishing simply means that's when they plan on having it available, but 'the date is flexible.'
