If you liked the open world nature of Just Cause 2 with all the targets to blow up after the game was over you might also like the Saboteur. It's exact same thing. There's like a thousand nazi installations all across Paris and the country side for you to hunt down and blow up.

Just finished Assassin's Creed: Bumfacehood. Fun game, but so much goddamn MMO-style filler - climb 24 viewpoints! Destroy 9 sails! Do 10 courtesan missions! Destroy 10 Borgia towers! Collect 5 Ambergris, 3 tomatoes and a severed head! Buy 12 tailors and 17 blacksmiths! I know most of it's optional, but the game had addiction-based gameplay down too damn well. I'm also feeling a lot less forgiving of the automated gameplay, heavy amount of cutscenes and linearity than I was with AC2 just a year ago. Also, is it me, or were there far too many missions revolving around slowly following someone across half the damn game map?

I liked the additional objectives to each mission, though, it actually added a sense of challenge to the series that has been ridiculously lacking so far. And I continue to love the batshit insane Illuminatus! storyline, intentionally silly or not.

Overall, think I'm burned out on sandbox games for a while.

I'm always adding new ones, so suggestions are still welcome. I tried out Supreme Magicka, but currently don't have it active. I'll give it a proper trial later though. I'll probably add FCOM at some point.

I'm playing a high elf custom mage with the apprentice birthsign, so heaps of magicka but so weak against spells that I freak out at the sight of an enemy magic user. But this weakness should only be tempoary, and I'm already beginning to overcome it through spells, items and powers with resist and absorb magicka effects.

I just started playing Saints Row 2. I don't know why I've put this off for so long. The game is phenomenal. It is true what they say. This game is everything that was missing from GTA 4. It is super over the top and it makes it a thrill to play.

I didn't go completely nuts with the character creator, but since they had a British accent for the character I gave him face paint and eye liner like the kid from Clockwork Orange and a giant pink mohawk. Now I just need to find a bowler hat, some suspenders and a baseball bat and I can go nuts.

I finished the game anyway, very impressed. Enough narrative for you to give a shit, and I was impressed at the length of the game too.

decided to give E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy a spin.

there's a lot of menus. not sure if its a good thing or bad thing. Game's certainly not trying to be intuitive and helpful.

and playing on the suggested resolution is painful for my eyes, because the font is pretty small.

will fiddle around with the graphical setup more tomorrow and try again.

The New York Time told me about dwarf fortress. It's like a game made for me.

I've managed through some serious wiki craft to get a small, self sufficient fortress running. I had previously found a massive cave system during some ore mining, but decided to seal the tunnel as I had no military to protect myself from monsters at the time. Some time later my Legendary engraver, a small fat dwarf that had been with me since the begining was mauled by a badger boar and carried off to the hospital. He seemed fine but the river had frozen over and as such my medical dwarves couldn't clean his wounds. Not wanting to lose him to infection I decided to reopen the caverns as I had previously stumbled upon an underground lake in there.

The first dwarf to head down there was my sheriff who was running to get clean water. Upon entering the cave she was ambushed by a legendary beast which from its description was a massive globe of red flame. Not having any martial training to speak of didn't stop my sheriff from punching the beast so hard it fell back into the lake and drowned, though sadly not before it set the sheriff on fire. She died of her wounds later on and I erected a massive memorial chamber in her honour.

Yeah, I'm having fun :)

Started Europa Universalis III up again. Will try to resist the addictiveness of it this time so I won't spend 10 hours every day for weeks in a row playing the Grand Campaign. So far I've managed to limit myself to 7 hours a day, great succes!

I've landed myself thoroughly in WoW. Was toying with it for ages, but now I've taken the plunge into dungeons and it's a completely different experience. My first MMORPG. Really enjoying it.

I played fallen earth for about 3 months when it was released. I really enjoyed the game, especially the crafting. I only got to level 20 I think, and 10-20 was pretty much only xp from crafting. You can also craft offline, which is pretty sweet. I crafted a motorbike which took about me about a week, but it was really fun. I'll prob give it another go when it becomes free to play.

Edit: currently playing planescape torment, but it's slow goings.

I just finished Heavy Rain.

It was pretty good, overall - the story and characters were interesting, and the pace really picked up towards the end, I found it was like reading the last few chapters of a good book. And it wasn't nearly as grim as I though it would be.

The control system had its ups and downs. (ha, literally). The actual action scenes like the fights, escaping from buildings etc were great fun, but simple things like walking around got infuriating at times.

The bit in the pipe with the broken glass drove me nuts, because even though I knew which way to go, and would move the stick the right way, the camera would swing round quickly as Ethan moved, leaving me with no feckin idea which direction he was now facing. Especially at the crossroads. I ended up retracing steps, turning round, swearing, pushing left to watch him turn right... damn annoying for what was such a simple task.

The context sensitive stuff didn't always work, either... I was trying to stop Jayden (?) from taking his weird purple drug, and the choice 'throw it in the bin' (or something like it) came up.. I pressed the right button, and he snorted it up his nose instead. What? Also, any movements involving shaking the controller up and down rapidly. I mean, the controller has evolved over time, it now has a bucketload of buttons, sticks and shoulder buttons all over it, and I'm sitting there shaking it up and down trying to make it do something on screen. That is NOT an improvement imo, it just sucks.

Good game though, always nice to play something where the developer has tried to do something different for a change. I wonder what happens if you

I finally got all the expansions and crap installed and updated. I love this game to death.

I've started giving myself metagame goals, although a few of my campaigns got INSANELY HARD, as I'd run into someone (usually either beefy-venice or beefy-ottomans) with PREPOSTEROUSLY high tech levels compared to me.

After spending the past few months playing the crap out of Morrowind on a PC for the first time (so much more fun than on the XBox), I've now moved on to a heavily-modded Oblivion, also a first for me on a PC. And, thanks to one of those mods(SoVM I think is what it's called, can't look it up at work), it looks like I'm going back to Morrowind. I just got ported from Anvil to Mournhold and so far, so good :p

Aside from the CTDs...

+ havent played Oblivion in ages! I miss it dearly. Currently playing zone of the enders on a ps2 emulator i rustled up last year. This game should be remade. Awesome orbital frame mobile suits that trash the landscape at breakneck speed destroying everything in their path as they do so. This is an idea deserving every sequal the money grubbing developers can get away with...

I'm playing a couple of different games at the same time as the mood suits me (which means i'll probably end up finishing none them :p )

Two Worlds 2 which I just purchased in a 50% off sale on Impulse.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 which I had been meaning to purchase for a while and finally got recently

Kings Bounty: Armored Princess which I have had for a while, and lost my saved game when i got a new computer so never ended up finishing.
