Although in a serious vein I think they're being a bit premature. Didn't they have a few new cases in the last couple of days?
I guess the CCP is OK with acceptable losses, it's been the cornerstone of their military strategy for decades and gets rid of all those annoying old and sick people while leaving a young workforce mostly intact.
Then they can accelerate to the top of the world economy and keep on making territory grabs while the rest of us go into hibernation.
Probably their plan all along, but just a few years early (before the vaccine for the CCP leaders was ready) and released in the wrong place by a biowarfare lab worker who didn't wash their hands.

As a Dane I feel I need to defend my heritage and categorically deny that this laboratory creation has anything to do with Danish breakfast.

It looks like a dollar store rip off of the kind of pastry normally sold at a bakery, what you'd call a cinnamon roll or what we call En Kanelsnegl/A Cinnamon Snail. We certainly don't put that kind of stuff in a toaster.

Okay, need to talk about Murder Hornets.

What is the deal?

- How serious is this?

- What is the ultimate outcome?

I believe I saw a nature documentary where one of the techniques to manage them is a hive of honey bees will give a giant Murder Hornet a collective hug such that it raises the temperature enough where it cooks it. Are we going to have to do something similar?

Growing up in the sticks, on a farm, I was one of them boys who would catch anything - snakes, spiders, polliwogs and salamanders from gross, dank still ponds... you name it, I caught it. I was ripped right out of that what are little girls and little boys made of poem.

^^^ Necessary set up - I remember catching a preying mantis and putting it in a Tupperware container. I then caught a grasshopper and dropped it in with the preying mantis. Whooboy, what I witnessed made jolts of excitement dance on my 8 year old brain. That preying mantis did some work! The preying mantis is one creature that lives up to the hype, no joke!

I like to have some kind of ambient or accoustic music playing in the background when reading. Lately I've been playing a bunch of Above and Beyond videos on youtube and it's raised that eternal question with me again, what the hell are DJs actually doing when they're playing a set?

What the hell are they doing?

I know that traditionally, when you've got a guy using a turn table, they're listening for the right moment to cut in between two tracks to get the right transition. Maybe they're checking that the sound levels are right or what ever. But this is digital. It's a preplanned set list. It's their equipment. Nobody's coming up to then and asking to hear their favorite vocal trance track.

What are they doing when they suddenly in the middle of a song press a couple buttons and start twisting that one nob back and forth and act like this is the most orgasmic experience? There's no discernible difference in what is being heard. Is there perhaps a difference between what is being recorded and what the live crowd is hearing?

I won't even start to speculate on when the DJs look like they're in some kind of pain or going through some particularly strainous effort when a certain beat drops and they turn that particularly nob that way and click a random button.

This guy Paul Kalkbrenner cracks me up with the faces he makes. Maybe he's just high as fuck.
