I don't want Bioware to change the ending however I have faith that if they were to do ending DLC they'd do it in such a way as to bring me around to seeing it as awesome and praising the new end. What can I say? In Bioware I Trust.

Started a second play through with my Main Shep last night, on Insanity this time.
Noticed something I missed the first time:
I'm really starting to like the theory that the kid never existed in the first place. Weather or not it is a sign of Reaper Indoctrination or just Shep starting to lose his mind is another question.
Also: Unskipable Dream sequences are annoying and stupid.

Yes I saw someone state that the Dream Sequences should have been cut scenes, and I agree. The slow running playable crap was frustrating.
Anyway, I thought the endings were good, sans the random jokr landing on random planet and then EDI got out of the ship with him, despite the fact that I watched EDI get destroyed by a laser beam in that last mad dash.
Anyway, yes it would have been nice if choices mattered more, like if you kept more people alive, they could have helped you at the end, or if you brokered peace and maintained it between the Quarians and the Geth, the crucible admits it is wrong and that you are strong enough and possibly wise enough to live, and the Reapers become a nation of their own, with all the secrets and tech of all the races they assimilated. Possibly a peace-keeping force?
Cure the genophage? The Krogans bum rush the beam and easily get you into it, unharmed. Meh. I'm hoping that the 'indoctrination ending' becomes cannon because I find that the best reconciliation of the endings, where only when you totally refuse all synthetic life in the galaxy do you survive, and only when you have enough military strength.
To make your choices matter, you would have to rewrite the endings. Maybe each surviving crew member has a different plan to get you to the beam? Or perhaps there is no beam and you defend an installation from waves until they figure out a way to use the reaper beam-tech, and are able to cut through the destroyers attacking you with it, and you manage to send the plans out to every ship in the fleet before you are overrun?
Kind of like the Halo: Reach ending, which I wont spoil here, but that final sacrifice that felt like it actually mattered?

I'm finding a lot of people don't like the end because it 'wasn't heroic enough'. I disagree - it may not have been Hollywood heroic but it was damn heroic as far as I concerned. Having grown up with my mum's family being army and my grandad being RAF I learnt along time ago that true heroism isn't all bells and whistle - it's determination mixed with desperation and more often than not it's tragic, lonely and understated and I felt that the ending had all of that.

If you look at the people saying 'The endings shouldn't be changed but....' - a lot of them are saying that it felt underwhelming because it wasn't heroic enough. That they were expecting a more literary/hollywood version of a heroic ending.

I don't think that they are saying it isn't heroic - I think what they are really complaining about is that it wasn't the style of heroic ending that they were expecting. A few used the term 'somthing more epic'
They did play the same games as me right? I don't see how a hollywood, final stand, violins and harp music ending would have done anything but cheapen the ending. You just can't please everyone.....as Bioware has learnt, again

The guys at Penny Arcade said it pretty well. They liked the ending in many ways, but then they also read a lot of sci fi.

This is not a case of 'you can't please everyone' - believe me, playing WoW for years, I know that scenario well enough as it's popping up constantly. The case here is Drew Karpyshyn getting sacked and BW letting that shithead Marc Walters have his way with the game's storyline. It just ends up being almost-30 hours of Michael Bay having an erection. Which, in itself, still produced a good game, but BW isn't the same company that gave us ME1, KOTOR and DA:O. The writing's getting worse year by year, and the fanbase is worried - we just want to continue to love BW games. Not all of us are satisfied with just having a femshep/garrus romance in the game.

What about starting a petition that BioWare is selling its artistic license (the guy said game design was art) for commercial purposes and that changing the endings/ providing new ones is treachery to the game and to an ending WE liked?
