I was first thinking 20x20, but that gets really small. say 40x40 and then the communal buildings can be 80x80?

Depends on what it is. If it's an office tower, doesn't have to be much wider than a house - say 2x2 lots. But if it's a stadium, then it'll be huge and need a lot of lots.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I've done the community town before it's fun :p

Set out roads, made a townhall, some parks and a sewer system (no real use except because I could)

Always fun to see what interesting house designs people come up with in the limited space on a lot, although sadly there's always that one person who builds a cobble stone tower monstrosity as their 'house' :)

Yeah, we can't have that. This is a town, not a wizards valley. There will need to be zoning and a homeowners association to keep that in check.

Sounds fun! When is this all kicking off and getting started? I'm thinking I would like enough room to make a small lawn and garden so 40x40 sounds best. That place marked out on the map isn't too far from my own island. I'll pop in next time I'm on.

Shiara your tunnel now has a door right by the bottom of the steps leading to a tunnel that has a rail line going directly to the 0,0 point. From there it all connects south to everyone and your other home. If you don't want it there I will put it back the way i found it.

Everyone should hook in to the rail line. It now stretches from -1000,0 to 4000,0. There is also a branch that goes west of the main line and then south again. All of this is at level 15 or 16. If you want help connecting let me know.

indeed. I hope it's fixed by the time I get home from work, or I will be sad and have to find some other way of entertaining myself tonight.

My client kept not being able to find servers. Not the Malazan server, per se, but I couldn't logon on to ANY server properly.

Maybe it was just me?

Hi. Busy night last night with bottling homebrew beer. Also got some very bad news about a sick friend and was too bummed to do much.

Server is back up now.

EDIT - Just placed a fresh backup on the FTP for messremb. We will have an updated zoomable map as soon as he gets time to render it and upload it to the server.

DLing the backup now, will try to render it after I get it, will post it here if I get a good render, and speak to Messy about how he has it hosted on the server so I can upload it.

And... the Render has begun.

Mines already been uploaded :)

Edit:

Although it isn't live yet.

Obdigore, If you want to grab a local version and save yourself the CPU cycles then download the 745MB Maps.zip file from the backup directory, unzip, add the /Scripts folder from the render you've started and done.

I shall, when home. 2 hours to go.... It's going to be a tiny, tiny bit of a bitch walking to that town area though.
