Bah, don't listen to him - dry noodles are the way forward! Delicious and nutritious!

EDIT: On that note, perhaps cooking should have a bigger role in minecraft - more recipes and different ways of cooking the same thing...?

Eh, I'm not really a fan of cooking in games. Cooking up some bacon is useful for the time being, and probably bread once I get a greenhouse or farm set up, but if they start overloading the game with every little food item that can possibly be gleaned from the countryside, I'll definitely stop paying attention and stick with the bacon and bread.

What I want to see is much more elemental stuff. It would be cool to put a lightning rod on my mountain and then catch electricity with it which I could then use to wire things more efficiently than the redstone or maybe set up electric traps. I'm excited about the mention of Notch wanting to add in swamps and deserts as those are great environments and would probably open up some new kinds of blocks - peat or spanish moss, anyone? We could use the peat to make oil using some new compression furnace or something.

This game has so much potential. I love it.

Get that farm up and running. The smart thing about wheat is that unlike pork you can carry 64 bundles and it will only take up one spot. 64 bundles turns in to around 21 loafs of bread. Which is a lot of food to be carrying around with you.

I haven't even found a chest, yet. The only things I've stumbled across in the Mega Cave besides the usual are two different kinds of mushrooms. Apparently I can make soup once I craft a bowl. Either way, the saddle is only one use and you can't control the pig while you ride it. So, pretty much just for amusement.

But imagine if that changes in time for a malazan MP server ... War Pigs!

I've got a few saddles lying around. It's completely random when they pop up.

Too bad you can't control the pig. It would have been fun if the saddle made the pig a mount you could travel on at double speed or something like that.

Apt, hoped I'd never have to use the word mount and pig in the same sentence.

It's as simple as it looks. The angle of the arrows was only determined by their placement on the TNT... I think.

Oh gods. This submarine pen I am working on his stupidly big. It's not even like I'm going to get all complicated. It's just a giant trench with a canopy and a big blocky submarine.

But I had to fill out a part of the side with dirt and stone to reclaim enough of the sea board to make room for the trench.

And then I have to dig out the trench the submarine is going to be lying in. I counted what the dimensions are going to look like if I stay with the current plan:

19 blocks deep.

19 blocks wide.

43 blocks long.

That's 15523 squares. That I am grinding down. Sigh.

And I keep digging into my tunnels beneath the island, so I'm having trouble with cave ins and now I just discovered a HUGE cave system in the furthest part of the pool.

Man, filling this thing with water is going to suck.

EDIT: And I haven't even begun figuring out how I'm going to build the actual submarine.

Right...so I have plans for a properly big and grand structure, then I think I'll start linking things with roads and I might even wall them all into one large city-like area because I find the current randomness to all of my buildings rather displeasing.
