Saw SikTh over at Manchester Academy t'other day. Excellent gig. Technical heavy music at the very peak of what it can be.

New people to the forum bring new bands!!
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Thread-surrection!

Going to see my fave band WITHIN TEMPTATION tonight, and the opener is another great band AMARANTHE!

Going to be an epic, metal-y night!

Nice! How was it?

Both were actually incredible. Second time seeing WT, and only the first seeing Amaranthe...but yeah that whole night kicked ass!

SikTh, Neaera, Soilwork, Machine Head and Muse.
Shadows Fall and God Forbid, Chimaira, Bleeding Through.
Means End, Gojira, Mnemic, and Bloodshot Dawn for you.
Intervals, Nightkin, and Silent Descent too.

These are bands that I like to listen.
Put the cans on my head and press play, I'm blissin'.
There's lots of double kick and growling.
And for the newer metal, on the net I'm prowlin'.

If you can name the tune I just filched, brownie points for you.

Also honourable mentions go to Black Crown Initiate, Misery Signals, The Black Dahlia Murder, Scar Symmetry... I could go on.

Lee Fields & The Expressions on saturday. Closest thing to a current king of soul I'd argue. It'll be a lot of fun!

La Coka Nostra next monday, for that "oh so wrong" vibe. It is bound to be a hall full of coked up guys in their late twenties and it might be musically suspect, but it will be a lot of fun anyway. Then Lamb on Thursday at Paradiso, which is just about the very best venue I know. Not sure what to expect: might be standing around for the whole duration, might be magical. Then Rodrigo y Gabrielaon the 8th of december, which will be mad skillz on display and is guaranteed to be awesome, followed by Emiliana Torrini later in december.

It was made better by being first through the door and getting a handshake off of Weller (who also recognised me as the one who had been there for about four hours prior to the doors opening).

Saw Flogging Molly over the weekend. Awesome, awesome show. Dave King is a better front man than anyone I've seen. From the moment the band hit the stage until after the lights came on and they were still there, dancing with the road crew, Dave and company held us in the palms of their hands. That show put to shame any of the big acts I've seen.

That's probably a show I need to see before the band goes away for good. It's a shame about Malcom though...

This was by far my favourite venue when I lived in Nederland too. Not too far from Zaandam where I lived.
Some great nights.

By the way I would love to see Rodrigo y Gabriela. Big skills.

For me... Gonna get me some Tommy Emmanuel tickets for January.
This will be the 5th time.

Saw Sabaton on the night of Wednesday just gone. Massive fun. Had a midget friend of mine on my shoulders at one point, and he was light enough that I didn't need to hold onto him with my arms.

Went to see The Birthday Massacre last night and while it was decent, the lead singer's vocal mic was drowned out almost the entire set by the rest of the instruments. Whomever was running FOH was doing a shit job.

Oh and there were these two muppets who stood beside us in the crowd and talked loudly at each other though EVERY song...and then they would inexplicably cheer and clap after each song...which they'd ignored while they talked. I got very close to saying something but they were drunk and it likely would have led to an altercation...but those around me were all pissed off too as I heard them all saying "Why don't these two guys shut up for one minute?"

Anyways, not the best show experience to end the year on...but what are you gonna do.

I could easily see this being their last tour.
Got tickets to the show, Dublin, July 1st.

I saw Pantera, Sepultura and Prong during their 1994 tour in america. That was an amazing show.
Also, Type O Negative on Halloween one year, with White Zombie opening.
And my first concert ever.... Wait for it....

Was Susanna Hoffs just as dreamy in person?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Michael Schenker is coming to a local small venue. I might just have to go. Rock Bottom!
