@ Studley: you ought to ask Mumford and Sons how they enjoyed being on stage with Springsteen. If they say anything other than orgasmic (they all looked like they creamed their pants), they're lying :-)

Springsteen, by the way, was Absolutely, Completely, Totally AWESOME. At 63, he's got more energy than a bull and a stage presence and charisma that blew just about everyone else I've ever seen out of the water.

The Boss aside I also saw Blood Red Shoes (signed cd is MINE!) The Hives (their singer is a fucking egomaniac), Rival Sons, The Specials (meh, badly aged) and Paul Kalkbrenner (very good stuff). Combined with the great weather, this were a great 3 days.
Everyone is entitled to his own wrong opinion. - Lizrad

I haven't been to anywhere near as many gigs as I would like.
But in order in which I think I have seen them.
Foo Fighters (were awesome)
Puddle of Mudd (supportinkorn, actually surprisingly good)
KoRn (untouchables tour, loudest concert I've ever been to, were awesome)
Snow Patrol
Kings of Leon
Calvin Harris (surprised me, was entertaining)
Muse (awesome)
The Saw Doctors (fierce craic, everyone fucking steamboats and singing along
Razorlight
Arcade fire
The Answer (were good but i didnt know any of their songs)
AC/DC ( fucking brilliant, right st the very front, unreal)
Fatboy slim (pretty good, was drunk like but he mixed it up pretty well and worked the crowd)
Swedish House Mafia (lots of people said amazing, I saw a big shiny light show and them playing a cd. Could have been anyone behind the screen, didn't really see the point of the hype.)

A month ago I saw Roger Waters perform the Wall. EPic and life changing. He sounds perfect still. Awesome show.

Thread-surrection!

Going to see my fave band WITHIN TEMPTATION tonight, and the opener is another great band AMARANTHE!

Going to be an epic, metal-y night!

My exciting concert news is that our Xmas tradition is to go see Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We just bought tix for December. This is the first year we're taking the kids.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

OK, so despite my last comment the only bands I may have to miss are Mastodon and Sólstafir as I have now booked my tickets for Haken, 65dos and Orphaned Land! Sweet!

I'm quite jealous of your custom! My wife and I have been dying to go see Trans Siberian Orchestra for years now. Our kids are old enough now that they'd be blown away too. I've been a huge Savatage fan (the metal band some of the founding members of TSO came from) since the mid eighties and got to see them several times over the years. Most notably New Year's Eve '87 opening for Megadeth and Dio.

Wow, someone else knows Seven Nations! Outstanding! The wife and I saw them in Dunedin and Sarasota, FL a few times when they were still Clan Na Gael and a couple times after they became Seven Nations. Really like their stuff through The Factory Song but haven't been as impressed with what I've heard since then.

I've also seen: Jethro Tull - many, many times
Queensryche
Iron Maiden - one of THE best concerts I've ever seen
Metallica
Rush
Def Leppard
Van Halen
Live
King's X
Ozzy

Most recently, I got to take my 14 year old daughter to see her favorite band, Paramore, last November for her first concert. It doesn't get much cooler than that, especially since I'm a big fan of Paramore as well. We both sang every song. I'll never forget it and hopefully, she never will either.

I also saw them while they are Clan Na Gael. I still have the Old Ground CD (signed by Kirk) laying around somewhere. They were my first introduction to Celtic fusion. :D

Another fan, yay! I think they were planning to play more the night we saw them, but Leprous overran their slot by about 10 minutes, plus about halfway through the Haken set Ross said 'Change of plan' and they played, Crystallised, the 20 minute track off the new EP - don't know what they were actually planning. Did they do the same when you saw them?

Bit annoyed at Leprous overrunning, but it did mean they closed their set with my favourite song of theirs (Forced Entry), which I didn't think they were going to Posted Image

ETA: Must remember to order the new EP when I get home tonight . . .

Saw 65daysofstatic in Manchester Cathedral the other night. Totally resplendent, uncompromisingly loud and overwhelmingly brilliant!

Anathema are doing some cathedral acoustic gigs next year and I must get to one!
