Should be interesting.

Not that fussed about the French going out - unlike many, I wasn't that bothered by the Henry thing.

I lost all my vitriol over that sort of cock up after Chiellini ran over Hutton but managed to win a free kick in the 2008 qualifiers.

Against Germany? So the old enemy returns eh... Well. To be fair I think I will be more hoping that the US gets trashed by Ghana than anything because I can't take the smugness of my American friend much longer. He doesn't even like football that much...

Dammit, my bother-in-law's Ghanaian, I was looking forward to an England/Ghana match. Such a shame we're shite and couldn't manage it. Now I'm going to be hungover tomorrow for barely any reason at all. Bastarding shite.

My heart is still racing 6 hours later. I feel terrible for Slovenia. They got knocked out of the knock-out stage with 3 minutes to go in the US-Algeria game. That roller-coaster...., well, I can understand it to a degree, but it had to be heart-breaking.

Very balanced group, with just England's performance against Slovenia (from what I understand, I couldn't watch it of course), being the only one close to approaching "dominant" in all the games.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
