Actually, the numbers kind of add up there. ~6 million people watched the Algeria game, which was the highest rated cup game on ESPN ever. So that's 6 out of 300, or 1/50.

The Chilean played had already gotten one yellow card for clipping people from behind and two warnings following. He was lucky not to get a red card just five minutes or so before, so I can understand why the referee gave him the card even though this time it was more of an accident.

The German counter-attack was impressive though.

If we had lost 2-1 I could have ranted about that decision and how angry it made me. Turns out it didn't mean much. Though it would have been interesting to see how the second half played out if England had come back on level, from a two goal deficit...

I can't think much different. England couldn't deal with a bloke running at a diagonal, they were always going to concede more.

And England carried the momentum out in the second half anyway, they could have scored again but didn't. Mostly because Rooney has been awful and Gerrard thinks he's Roy of the Rovers, the wanker.

I think it's safe to say at this point that England has problem with anyone running running at them. Regardless of direction. The back was a complete shambles.

Goal line technology? No-brainer at this point. If Henry's handball wasn't proof enough, this shocker sure as shit was. Blatter being there was somewhat amusing, but only in the sense he was probably talking to Mick Jagger or something.

As far as the Chile/Spain game goes. It was sweet up til the last third. Though the Count Dracula looking Mexican referee was losing the plot in the first half, before settling down a bit later on.

What an absolute shower of shit.

I am really going to enjoy the backlash and vitriol that gets directed at that overpaid, over hyped, pampered bunch of wank blankets.

Not that i'm trying to rub salt in the wound or anything, but i hope that the average England fan can now accept that "the greatest players for a generation" are actually pretty average and can't play as a team, they were totally outplayed by a kindergarten group.

The inquisition will now begin. Blaming the linesman will sate the knuckle draggers however I feel the problems with the English game run far deeper than many would care to talk about.

On a happier note, OXO are bringing out a commemorative cube wrapped in white foil with a red cross on it, they are calling it the Laughing Stock. :)

Well we didn't come out for the second half on level terms and so it meant a bloody lot as it happens ! I expect we propably would of found a way to balls it all up anyway but we were denied the opportunity ..... still time for some awards.

yes, he fumbled the ball over the line, but at the end of the day, the 10 halfwits in front of him should have done more.

Now, Argentina just got an offside goal allowed because the linesman didn't spot it, but someone put the replay on in the stadium showing Tevez as clearly offside.

That's a bit of a pisser for the Mexicans.

It's easy to pin a goalie for a single mistake, but people tend to forget the DOZENS of ridiculous fuckups field players do every match. It's unfair.

what a great way to end a nice realxing weekend. seriously havent laughed so much as shearers rather apt descriptions of the england squad.

England are their own worst enemies though. seriously the press need to stop heaping expectations on a team that never played well. scrapping through the pre cup friendlies and then almost oging out at group stages and saying you are going to beat the germans who actually play like a team... not likely.

england beaten by germany, check!

france sent home bottom of them group and in total fucking disarray, check!
